Thanks for your entirely nonsensical post. You should avoid being hypocritical about substance abuse, as you clearly are partaking of the forbidden fruit (crack).

Our pen has been a problem for sure. I hope it's just a blip, but my bigger concern is the fact that our starters have sucked as well and our offense got decimated by injury. Fully fledged, this team can play. We shall see if they can stay healthy in the second half
-
You guys are ahead in a flawed AL East. The Guardians are a better team when healthy and the Stros are a dominant team, especially when they get healthy. You're not beating those teams as is. If your goal is to win the AL East and get bounced out in the first round, then stay as is.
-
You must trade for your 3b. Devers could have a Judgian career, but look at what Judge did on first promotion. He sucked. Miguel Cabrera and Andruw Jones type call ups turning into playoff hero don't happen often. Get a vet who can play and if Devers outplays him, then great for you
-
There's a team like NY whose window is probably a year away. We can get by with kids taking their lumps. You guys are in your window! You're in 1st! If getting Prado delays Devers by a year then so be it. If you bring up Devers and he struggles in 2016, then you have no recourse. When you are in your window and you have a major now upgrade available for a B or C prospect you do it. By the time Devers is in his prime, you'll be rebuilding or he'll be in his prime in another uniform
-
Prado was great as a Yankee, I was sad to see him go. He's a contact hitter with some pop who plays a good enough 3b. He's older and coming off injury, so he should be easy to get. He's be an immediate upgrade over the s*** you have at third now

Yankees' two futures gamers are on the world team. Domingo Acevedo- tall, powerful righty who has been healthy this year and even spent time at AAA. He tops out at 102mph and throws a plus change up. Needs work on the consistency of his breaking ball. He has front line stuff as he has impeccable command, but he could also be a lock down back end pen option. He should be a top 100 guy, but he's not even top 5 in the yankee system. Estevan Florial- he got a lot of love prior to the season from the yankee prospect guys, but he came off an unimpressive 2016, so there was no national coverage. He's 19 and this year, he is showing 5 tool capability in long season. This year, he's on pace for 20HR and 30SB with a .300 BA. I think he hits Tampa after the futures game. He's the real deal. He wasn't even top 30 yankee prospect prior to the season, but he'll be top 5 this year and should be top 50 in baseball after the season -
Betances in full on Daniel Bard mode

Another annoying thing Cash is doing is he is keeping Chance Adams in AAA. The guy is absolutely destroying his competition in AAA. But he is not on the 40 man and we rolled with Cessa in CC's stead. If we fall out of this thing, we better be ready to see Chance get some big league starts, as I feel he is the next big thing on the mound for us
-
That's true. Nobody could predict that Holliday would contract a mystery illness leaving him in bed. Or that Hicks would blow out an oblique. It just sucks to see a team that was bludgeoning their way through the AL get stalled due to an immense amount of injuries
-
Rondon, Strop and Montgomery were pretty good in that pen as well as Trevor Cahill. The Cubs pen was unexpectedly deep but without a relief ace until they got Chap
-
The union will only disallow players from negotiating a lower contract than what is already guaranteed. If a player uses an opt out and ends up with less money, then they gambled and lost
-
If you put it that way! I think you guys are going to beat us for the division regardless. We needed all hands on deck to beat you guys. We have now lost our #'s 2, 4, and 6 hitters and our #2 starter. Add to that we lost two top prospects for the year behind the guys we lost and our depth is being tested in a ridiculous way. We lost our catcher and closer for a month as well as our setup man. Our ST conquering 1b has missed almost the whole season. Miller would help, but right now we are a wounded duck crashing to the ground. By the time we get to a semblance of health, our team will likely be at .500 or below and you guys will have a 10 game lead
-
Anyone who thinks he is walking away from the last few years of his contract are fools. Price now has an elbow issue. All roads eventual lead to TJS. If he opts out, he will be worth far less than he is set to earn. Tanaka is in the same boat. If either of them opt out, they are dummies

This is rare, and trust me, Yankee fans felt it. Playing 1 playoff game over 4 years with a middling $200+ mil roster sucked. I anticipate Henry won't allow a $200 mil annual failure to stand. Also, the rarity of being able to stay competitive and rebuild is incredible. But we had the top end talent. We stopped dealing it away during our run. We held onto Sanchez through the fall in 2012 into 2013. We drafted Judge in 2013. We made big money signings and turned them into prospects. We dealt away a good reliever and got Castro. We dealt away nothing and got Chapman and in turn got Warren back and a top 5 prospect. The idea that DD would guide this team through a rebuild is odd. He isn't here to keep you guys relevant for the next decade. He is here to win a title now. You dealt Margot, Kopech, Moncada, Espinosa, Shaw and Dubon in the span of two seasons. Even though Espy looks like he needs TJS and Dubon has been average, the other four are knocking on the door of long and successful big league careers. We didn't do that after 2012. Cash realized that we needed to get younger and he stopped making vet for kid deals. Cash has been preparing a rebuild for 5 years. We didnt part with prospects, real, true prospects, for about 5 years. You did have a true rebuild period. And in doing so, you had the game's #2 farm system in baseball (#1 IMO). Then you graduated a few players (see Killer B's) and then dealt off a slew to fortify your team. The well after Devers is pretty dry right now, and because your window is now, your drafts are going to have lower pool amounts and the talent brought in will be further away or non existant. If DD thought the player he was getting was the one to put you over the top, then Devers and Groome are gone. Part of being a fan is knowing who is pushing the buttons. DD isn't here to win in 2020. He is here to win now You may reset the lux tax, and if you do, more power to you. But you can only reset it because you are paying peanuts to your killer B's. That will not last forever. I do not for a second think that DD would pass up winning a title this year because of the lux tax.

You guys don't need anything to make the PO's, but in the playoffs, if you don't have a true bridge, you will lose. Kelly is having a nice season with a VERY low BABIP and relying a ton on contact, which is more than most 100mph pitchers need. He can help, but if he is your answer to the bridge issue, then the playoffs will eat you alive. The blueprint lately has been flamethrowing strikeout artists coming in from the 6th inning on in the playoffs. Kelly is a flamethrower, but far from a K artist. You need a high velo, high K guy

Pazos is pitching really well in SEA, so it isn't like we won that one. I think both sides are happy. We had a 40 man crunch and SEA needed a lefty reliever. Littell is turning into a very good prospect. He has big league stuff, but he is a studier, a guy who knows what the hitters tendencies are and will exploit them. It is very big league of him in the minors, where a lot of pitchers just grip it and rip it and let their talent take over. He's turning into quite a find for us. Should he keep dominating AA, there is a chance he hits AAA this yr

You don't need a 5th starter. Fister is filling in for ERod. You can run away with this division without ERod. If you get him back, he will be in the running for a playoff rotation spot after Sale and Price. Not that big of a deal. Your bridge to Kimbrel needs work. Smith might help, but with his setbacks coming back from TJS, you cannot count on him You have the 16th best OPS at C, the 22nd best at 1b, 23rd at 2b (Pedey missed some time), the worst in baseball at 3b by a LOT, 17th in LF. Catcher isn't getting improved unless you land Lucroy, and with the D behind the plate, you don't need to go nuts 1b has Moreland, and even though his offense isn't top of the line, it is good in the lineup and he plays good D 2b's dearth of production is due to Pedey's loss of power and his lost time. Not changing there. LF has a rookie who is taking his lumps, you aren't moving from there. 3b must be upgraded. A playoff team cannot have a hole at that position as bad as your is. I think DD may make a major splash. He might trade north of the border and nab Donaldson with Devers as the headline. He could go to Oakland and get Lowrie. He has to get SOMEONE. He also needs to get a reliable reliever. That shouldn't cost Devers, but someone who can help Kelly lock down 7 and 8

Slav, what I'm saying is that you are smack in the middle of a window. Enjoy that. Windows close. With the farm depleted and cheap guys getting expensive, you'll reach a point where you'll have to pay premiums to your currently cheap guys and then you'll have to pay premiums to fill out the roster. Henry won't stand for a $300 mil roster. You'll rebuild

Jorge Mateo is enjoying himself in AA. After 2 plus seasons of High A ball, the Yankees moved him up rather than watch him stagnate and man have there been early dividends. He's 12 for 22 with 3 triples, a homer and 2 steals. -
The trade bait argument is mostly moot now, though. With the amount of scouting that is done these days, most teams know if a guy can play the position they are currently occupying. It's not like teams are stashing guys in the Amazon. Their games are televised in some situations and easily reachable in others.
-
slav, you are going to have a VERY expensive team, especially with guys who are starting to see real money. Mookie Betts is comfortable playing on 1 year deals until he hits FA. Bogaerts is entirely comfortable playing on 1 yr deals as well Bradley already made $3.6mil and with him doing well this yr, he is in line for a really nice payday this December as well. Sale's options end after 2019. By the time FA comes about, Sale could be worth $30 mil plus, Bogey $25-$30 mil plus, JBJ $20 mil plus, and Betts $30 mil plus. When you add in Price at $31 mil and Pedey still on the books, you are looking at $160 mil tied up in 6 guys, with two of them being past their primes. Long story short is you are going to lose some of this talent and with your farm being traded down and your draft pools shrinking as your team plays well, there is a strong chance for another rebuild. You just need to hope you can snag a title or two in the meantime
-
Guys, your team is the prohibitive favorite to run away with the AL East with a team built for now. You upgrade your team and the future be damned. You have a 3 year window right now. At the end of that window, Price and Pedroia will be on the payroll as dead weight and your kids will become incredibly expensive. Bogaerts, Bradley and Sale hit the market after 2019. Betts after 2020. Your farm right now is depleted but still has one elite talent at the top capable of landing one more big prize and while you added a nice INTL class, they are 5 years away and with your team being good the next few years, your drafts wont land you much plug and play high end talent like Beni.
-
Devers has no speed and his defense is suspect. But Devers is also a high end offensive prospect in his own right. Devers has a higher offensive ceiling than Frazier for sure. But Frazier will run better, will steal bases, can stick in a tough defensive position and excel there, etc. Devers offers you offense only in a guy who might end up moving off position

So that Beltran trade and the Nova trade are paying off. Dillon Tate was the #4 pick in the 2015 draft and sucked balls for a year in Texas. We got him, had him relieve with some success after we got him. He had some shoulder stiffness in ST and was held back in extended. Since returning to the rotation in Tampa, he has dominated. 3 starts, 18.1IP 21K 3BB 0.87WHIP and 1.47ERA. He was a college draftee, so he is 23. I expect him to be in Trenton soon. His stuff is filthy Tito Polo was acquired in the Ivan Nova trade last year. He is a legitimate prospect, surprisingly. He's short (5'9") but has a ton of speed and this year is showing some slugging capability with a SLG of .443 as a 22 yr old. He has now moved up to AA. I am surprised we got anything for Nova
