    Ben trading Lester was really smart in retrospect. Getting Cespedes netted you a young guy who won't the CY last year. Not re-signing him was really stupid. Lester is a playoff ace who won in boston. Price is a playoff choker who had no history in boston. I also don't think it's Lester or Price. I think DD comes in and adds Price to Lester and probably won't have to get Sale. That keeps Moncada as your 3b and your farm stocked. OR, it allows DD to properly replace Papi with a major offensive talent. Passing on Lester in FA was a big, big f*** up. Lackey's trade looks epically bad in retrospect, but at the time, Craig was a perennial cleanup hitter coming off an injury plagued season and Kelly was a pitcher whose stuff was a lot better than his performance. That deal probably should have been for prospects rather than big leaguers

    Harper is head, shoulder, knees and toes above Betts. That's not a knock on Betts, but when Harper is healthy, he's the best player in baseball. I like Lindor more than Betts due to similar ceiling offensively, but The position gives him the edge.

    Tanaka' velocity is up this year. His location has been erratic. Severino is effectively a rookie.

    What you need is Porcello to pitch like Porcello. Last season, his BABIP was down in the .269 range and he won the CY. This year, it is up in the .327 range. The homerun ball has increased dramatically as well, up 0.7/9IP. Now his K rate is up this year which is making his FIP look good, but to this point, Porcello appears wild in the zone which is why he is getting hammered. He has already lost more games this year than all of last year. Now, part of that is the offense, but the other part is that he isn't lasting as long, and he isn't that effective. 2017 is making 2016 look more like the career year that it was.

    Depending on how our development has moved along, there is a possibility it is both. That being said, by then Gardner will be gone. Ells will be on his last legs. Hicks who knows. We have Frazier to pair with Judge in the OF. We have other OF prospects, but none close enough to expect them to don a Yankee uni. Plus, Harper in YS would be deadly. Machado has a shot for sure, but we've already got a young IF with Torres likely to be at 3B or SS soon. Our need might be in the OF more so than the IF. And I also think Harper is a lot better
