  1. No, I think Jones is the future. I really like the kid. Big arm, very mobile. He was just running for his life
  2. Engram, Shepard, and Barkley spent a lot of time injured last year. Our O line was a sieve. Our defense was abysmal. I’m hoping that Lawrence and Baker can take a big step up in year 2 and Jones can stay upright and not be running for his life after 2 seconds. We’ve got literally one good O lineman in Hernandez. Solder would be best served as a RT, which should make him be more effective. Draft a good LT and hope they can get the job done. Maybe draft a center in the middle rounds and hope he can get the job done. We aren’t winning anything in 2020-2021. The goal is to protect Jones and build a good offense. Then focus on the D. I see Simmons projected to us, and he’s the best player left theoretically, but while a playmaking defensive freak would be useful, the focus has to be on protecting and progressing Jones. If we can build a line in this draft AND maybe select one diamond in the rough defensively, we could really take advantage next year of the top of the draft when everyone will be jockeying for the top 2 picks (Fields and Lawrence)
  3. Really intrigued by what the Giants do here. The Lions are ahead of them and theoretically don’t need a QB, but the rumors point towards them potentially selecting one and replacing Stanford long term. If they take a QB, then the Giants won’t have much leverage. If the Lions don’t trade out and select a CB to replace Slay like Okudah, then the Giants will be sitting pretty to trade down with any team needing a QB. There are a bunch of good tackles out there, so we don’t have to get a top 10 pick back.
  4. I know Worcester very, very well. Let’s rattle off some possible names for a team from Paris of the ‘80s The Worcester Needles The Worcester Crash The Worcester Bullets The Worcester Smack Or we can take a name from anything west of Worcester and east of Springfield The Worcester Cow-Tippers The Worcester Incest The Worcester ATV’s I’m intrigued as to how they’ll market New England’s second largest city. Worcester badly needs this and the money pumped in by Henry to revitalize an area that’s rife with gang violence could be huge for the city. I love Worcester, don’t get me wrong. It’s just fallen on hard times
  5. I’m so glad the draft will be on Thursday. I need some sports in my life, even if it’s just a roster filling evening for football and no actual games are played. I’m a Giants fan. My team has the fourth pick, but the team is so terrible that they would benefit from trading back and getting multiple picks. If they stay at the spot, I’d like them to take Simmons, who looks like a freak talent and would likely be a franchise altering LB for the next decade. But I’d almost rather they move back and draft a LT that can keep Danny Dimes from getting murdered again. Solder came over from NE and in true NE FA form, entirely sucked outside of BB’s system. It seems we know who is the 1-2 picks. 1 will be Burrow. 2 will be Chase Young to Washington. My hope is Miami falls in love with Tua and the Giants sit pretty with a pick that could be dealt for to get Hebert. That would leave the Giants with the type of haul that could really add to last year’s draft class. Maybe get a pick around #9 (Jaguars), get a second rounder in 2020 and another 1st in 2021.
  6. I look forward to getting a hard time again.
  7. Trainers will be there. But if you need an MRI and have to go to a medical facility, you’re out
  8. Here’s the only way this can work. MLB takes over a massive baseball complex. You need at least 15 fields. MLB buys out a bunch of local hotels, houses, fields, etc. Those locations are retrofitted/refurbished/built for player living. Every player reports and is tested for COVID 19. By that point, the rapid test will be available. Any positives are sent home for a month. Every player is isolated from any outside sources. No family, friends, nothing. It’s baseball, nothing but. MLB staff, food services, and media are under the same quarantine. 2 weeks of ST, then opening the season. This should be done in a warm weather location so you can extend the season. Maybe northern Florida. For the minor leagues, they’d do the same thing, and market the minor league games. The minor league complex would need to be driving distance from the MLB complex (within 3 hours). That way you can shuttle players from the minor if there are injuries. Any injury requiring medical care is a 2 week injury. You need COVID testing to return and will be quarantined for awhile until they’re sure COVID doesn’t develop. If you have to break quarantine for care, you’re out.
  9. That’s incredibly stupid. NY is going to be the new epicenter for COVID 19 for the entire world!
  10. Yup. I’m coordinating response for my hospital and for the system. Lots of MDs are so specialized that they’re not useful for this plague.
  11. It would be the perfect time to publish this if they wanted the story to die. Nobody is even tuning in to sports right now
  12. It’s state by state.
  13. Most elective surgeries in all states are banned at this point.
  14. I don’t think you can cancel the contracts, but I bet you can toll them to 2021
  15. Lackey didn’t have a mysterious shoulder ailment that snapped him of velocity before hurting his elbow. I wonder if this long recovery will actually benefit Sale’s shoulder enough to maybe get stronger and return to prior velocity levels
  16. The way this thing is going, Sale might be ready for opening day
  17. Guys, I hate to say I told you so, but the story never made sense. PRP for inflammation? Didn’t improve with many months of rest? Suggestion of TJS but no evidence the ligament is torn? Guys, I saw through it from the start
  18. Doesn’t make much sense as to why they waited
  19. Brady announced he is leaving NE
  20. MLB does have a doomsday clause and at this point, they meet the criteria. If the season is canceled, the MLB will only have to pay players for the portion of ST attended and that’s about it
  21. Not much solace knowing that upwards of a million Americans are likely to die from this disease. Baseball is the furthest thing from my mind
  22. Cole is going to be sooooo awesome this year that he will go undefeated and not allow an earned run!
  23. The sox are so bad that they won't win a single game in 2020!!! The Yanks are so good that they will be undefeated in 2020!!!!
  24. Care to rephrase? Guys, once a player in a major sport got this disease, the game changed. ID specialists are anticipating HALF of all Americans will get it. 20% of all infected get hospitalized. 2-3% die. 5% end up needing ICU level care. You cannot have breeding grounds in locker rooms continue to be full of players. All the league would need is a single player to die and they would end up on the wrong side of a law suit that could destroy the sport. This is the right call epidemiologically, personally, and legally
