  1. and btw, the idea that these guys are even talking about the ROY is ridiculous. The ROY is Pedroia, lets be honest. The kid's only competition was on his own team and with DMats sucking of late and Okajima being homer prone, the award is his barring serious bribing of writers.
  2. Joba is not afraid to go up and in. I like that.
  3. dont like this call. I hate the idea of Viz coming in with runners on. Viz better be out of the equation now and Mo better be warming.
  4. I would assume we'd go to the Viz for the 8th
  5. Jeter awakens the bats. NICE!!! I am gonna call a put-it-out-of-doubter by ARod (also called the ARod special).
  6. you know what, I wanna donkeypunch Joe Torre. He needs a flyball and he stays with Damon while he has Matsui on the bench. Stupidity at its finest.
  7. Johnny Damon is a f***ing moron.
  8. Damon with the choke job. f***!
  9. The point is, Jacoby has a quick enough bat to handle the ball down and in and slaps well enough to catch the pitches on the corner. But his uppercut swing will not let him hit the up and in ball, and Joba knew it. He didnt stray from up and in once. And the fact that he buzzed him makes it even better.
  10. textbook pitching right there. Jacoby has a weakness, Joba ate him up. BTW, Lugo didnt even have a chance.
  11. Johnny Damon giveth, Johnny Damon taketh away!!! Thus far, 2 defensive plays have helped us immensely. And if Matsui is in left or Giambi was at 1st, we'd be down 4 right now.
  12. this should probably be Clemens' last inning here.
  13. Clemens and Schill look vintage tonight. Clemens is hitting speeds I didnt know he had in him.
  14. why is this team so dead? WTF, FIGHT FOR YOUR LIVES!!
  15. Nice command? He hung both sliders. The only thing he has going for him is that he is a completely different pitcher now than what we are used to seeing.
  16. Both Buster Olney and Rosenthal from FOX has reported that the yankees brass has already made the decision to pick up Bobby Abreu's option at seasons end, barring a major injury late in the season. His option is worth 16 mil, though it would have been a 2 mil buyout. I would certainly say that Abreu is worth the net of 14 mil for one season. Good for him and good for the yankees. FWIW, his first half was his worst first half ever, and if he can at least continue to be a second half player and can at least be serviceable in the first half, he could really have one hell of a season next yr. Right now he is hitting .320+ in the second half with 11 of his 17 homers coming after the break.
