  1. David Adams suffered an injury two days ago. NO update, but apparently it doesnt look good. And, Jeremy Bleich is headed for season ending shoulder surgery.
  2. I acknowledge the imbalance but show no desire to change it. Why would I want to change a system that allows my team to win more games.
  3. this team is just dead right now. Tex cannot hit right now, which is absolutely killing us. If he starts hitting again, then we start scoring. Until then, we might need to wait until the injury brigade return
  4. IIRC, lackey seems to go on a run when summer hits. My guess is that he'll win8 games between June and July
  5. Sounds like vazquez just broke a finger on his pitching hand laying down a bunt. This team is f***in snakebit
  6. Didnt see the game as I was working again. Was Joba off by a lot or did the sox hit good pitches. s***, that is a punch in the nads.
  7. Really? Dude, has anyone talked to you about your unabashed sox loving here? Have you ever said anything bad about the sox? Really? Dude, this sox team is 2006-esque and you have two teams in your division who are WS caliber.
  8. Lets fast forward into theoretical realm here.... Lets say the sox make no deadline moves since they are out of it and the buyers dont want what the sox are offering. Lets say they end the yr with 86 wins and miss the playoffs by 9 games to the WC winning Rays. What do you propose from November on to improve the team. Remembering that the sox have a bunch of FAs and that a bunch of FAs come to the market.
  9. I see Cameron's injury getting a lot of play on this thread, so I figure I'd chime in. The report is an "abdominal tear." Cameron believes he has a sports hernia. They are pretty similar. A sports hernia is an abdominal tear, just typically in the lower abdomen. If the plan is surgery in the offseason, then he might be right. Regardless, it is a nagging injury that you can play through, but it does limit a good amount of movement from your core, which is needed to swing, change directions on the run, etc. My guess is that his 2010 campaign is gonna be well below average for that reason alone
  10. Beckett going for the sox tonight trying to be the ultimate stopper. If he doesnt win tonight, then I think the general team psyche is just gonna crumble. NY is a 100 win team. TB is looking like they are on their way there too. Boston is trying to prove they belong. But having lost 5 of 7 to NY and all 4 to TB, they arent exactly showing it. If the sox win tonight, they go on a run, like a 7-3 run through the next 10 games against good teams. If they lose tonight, IMO, they slump through the next 10 games and are effectively out of it by June 1. I know that the saying is momentum stops with the next day's starting pitcher, but in this instance, I think it isnt true. Tonight, in YS, vs CC with a gimpy Beckett returning, the sox are essentially putting their season on the line.
  11. Girardi f***ed up here. The guy misses a month with a hammy pull, then comes back for the first Yankee Sox homegame of the yr. He goes out, tosses a good inning #1, so Joe leaves him out for a second? f***ing dumb
  12. If he locates like he did vs Detroit, then he'll end up having a solid season. If Detroit was an abberation, then he'll get replaced at midseason
  13. But they can cover his loss pretty well with their pretty deep bench. My guess is that Miranda is gonna get a prolonged shot to play as well as Thames and Winn. Eventually, once Montero kicks it into gear (and he hit a grand slam tonight) he'll probably come up and take the reigns
  14. I think 95 wins is a minimum for the sox to be able to clinch a playoff spot. After tonight, the sox would need to go 76-47 to get to that mark, a .618 winning percentage
  15. I guess the question is whether you wanted Bay in LF and Lowell at 3b or Cameron in LF (okay, CF, but you get the point) and Beltre at 3b. The money is about even when you factor in the first yr of the contract with Beltre.
  16. Wish I wasnt working. The offense was incredible from the sounds of it. I was following on gamecast, it sounded like Hughes had good stuff, but the sox just wouldnt go down. Long AB's, foul balls and eventually they would wear him down and reach base or crush a dinger. I cannot complain, he only allowed 7 baserunners in 5IP, but 5 of them scored. In term of the pen management, WOW. Girardi dodged a massive bullet there. 1 run game, Yankees vs Sox and you hand it over to Boone Logan? Then, Park just comes off the DL, looks solid in inning #1, so he goes out for inning #2 in the 8th with Joba and Mo ready? Then he lets Marte go 2 innings and Vazquez only gets one out? ARod and Thames prevented this from being a crushing loss. Instead, we deal what can only be described as a near mortal blow to the sox. CC looking to right the ship vs Beckett, a guy who injury and ineffectiveness have made made hittable in 2010. Should be fun
  17. Great pitchers typically make poor pitching coaches
  18. He shut down a good team in the Tigers. A rainout f-ed up the schedule and will now allow him to pitch in the pen against the sox. Assuming he isnt pressed into long man duty, he starts against the Mets on Friday and we all forget that this even happened
  19. They could find takers assuming they eat some dough.
  20. Joba and Mo sucked in that inning. Now, we have two innings to score three runs. f***
  21. You gotta be f***ing kidding me
  22. Robertson shows he belongs today. Good for him
  23. Lackey at 100 pitches and comes out for the 6th?
