Mussina has not been sharp at all. If we can force him to make pitches and chop away at the lead, get into the bullpen, maybe see Scot Erickchin, and we're back into it. Don't count us out.
Top outfield prospect for the Mets, hits his first homer today, and rounding 2nd base, does a Manny point to the 3rd base coach. After the game, he came back and rounded the whole warning track, high-fiving fans along the way. Is this acceptable behavior for a rookie?:wtf:
Well, Clement isn't looking half bad. If everyone in the bottom 3 can get 1 hit each, which Gonzalez has, and the top 6 can produce as usual, this should be a good one.
Oh, well, the Cardinals still have a good rotation, and will stay competitive, but they will definitely not dominate the Central when Pujols is missing, and if Houston or Cincinnati can make a run, it should be a good race to the end.
Livan Hernandez would be awesome. He is an inning eater, can go 7-8 innings even if he isn't dominant, 8-9 if he is, meaning he can give the bullpen some rest, making them more effective when it's needed. I would make a run at him, possibly trading a couple B prospects.
