  1. Paps gets the out, insurance please.
  2. My oh my, from his knees, a perfect throw, Coco was toast.
  3. Why does Mirabelli hit here? We're looking for some insurance, and you have Varitek on the bench.
  4. Nice bunt Coco! Let's get some insurance please.
  5. Well, since Mirabelli catches Wakefield, you have no Varitek in the lineup. Also, knuckleballers tend to have rubber arms, and can go a bit longer than most pitchers, and because it was not a close game at the time, maybe he wanted to save his bullpen for the Mets series, a tough offense, where the bullpen may be needed a lot. Anyways, Timlin, best setup man in baseball, strikes out the Anti-Papi, Pat Burrell.
  6. No way you can get rid of Pena, period. This guy could be the next Adam Dunn, 40 homers, low average and a lot of strikeouts. But before he got hurt, he showed signs of a real hitter, going opposite field, and not just swinging for the fences. If we do to him what we did to Papi, he could be a great hitter for years to come. Harris cannot hit, he can only run. That is valuable, as proven with Dave Roberts, but Pena has galaxies more potential.
  7. Pat Burrell to pinch hit with runners at 1st and 2nd, 2 out.
  8. Finally get to Lidle, Geoff Geary coming in, let's make it 4-0 Douglas!
  9. Borowski is a veteran, Messenger pitched a bit last year, and Kensing is basically a rookie, appearing in 8 games combined over 2004 and 2005. Sanchez, of course, a Red Sox farmhand, made his Major League debut last night.
  10. Good quick inning for Wake. Think we can squeeze 2 more out of him? He has 83 pitches through 5 innings.
  11. Good game so far, no score after 4.
  12. I am open to getting rid of Alvarez, he really is not the type of pitcher who can have success at Fenway.
  13. I happen to like Peter Gammons, but probably because of his homerness.
  14. Being pathetic against rookies? That's not a problem?
  15. Loaded, 2 outs for Willingham in the 8th, 2-1 Yankees As I type this, Willingham flies out to end the 8th.
  16. Yup, postponed, Wakefield-Lidle tomorrow
  17. Burrell not in the lineup, Victorino in left, Coste catching. Everything else normal. Rollins SS Utley 2B Abreu RF Howard 1B Rowand CF Dellucci DH Victorino LF Bell 3B Coste C
  18. 2 homers, 5 RBI, not too shabby.
  19. Nice. I like the mixture of veterans and youth on this team. Papelbon, Lester, Hansen, Delcarmen, Pauley earlier, and soon Pedroia.
  20. Ah, good point. Tavarez has pitched in the last two, Seanez is 2 of 3, Paps should get some work, maybe Timlin (last pitched Monday)
  21. Oh, did he hear me?
