  1. Another likely possibility.
  2. I was saying either Santana or Wood, but I know the chances are almost none.
  3. If we include, say, Murphy and Edgar Martinez, or something more, send them to Philly, Angels get Abreu, and we get Santana/Wood or something. That makes sense for us and the Angels, maybe not the Phillies.
  4. Yeah I woulda thought he would have known better. Championship game, last game of his career, and he blows it. France would have won if Henry and Zidane were still in it, some fabulous penalty kickers. That crossbar kick looms large too.
  5. Point taken, Papi did not do anything like this in his rookie seasons, or any time in Minnesota. But give me a situation where I need a homer, I'll take Papi. Zimmerman should be a great player though, I have heard defensive comparisons of Scott Rolen, and he surely has not disappointed.
  6. Nice. I haven't seen Hughes before, I wanna see what all the fuss is about.
  7. Is there any chance if the Angels are included we could pry Ervin Santana away?
  8. This seems like the most likely scenario, because I can't see where we would put him, unless it included Nixon, which wouldn't make much sense. A 3 way deal could happen, but who would be the 3rd team?
  9. Definitely keep him around, he's been super at Fenway, which is where people said he would falter.
  10. I think it's pretty clear this guy can still pitch, his numbers are very good: 6-4, 2.69 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, .212 BAA, 120 1/3 IP, 102 K, 41 BB, 10 HR, VORP: 43 (3rd in MLB for pitchers, behind only Webb and Santana)
  11. Good for him. Good luck Shoppy. That error in the 9th really hurt, but bounce back brotha'
  12. Well I haven't seen him, despite the Sox games, so I'll take your word for it.
  13. Someone will likely step up, and a couple will likely take a step down. New York writers will keep Papelbon from winning the Cy.
  14. Oh yeah, damn All-Star break. That's why I couldn't think of it. Nice I got tickets to the first game back vs. Oakland.
  15. I know last year's catcher for the Wareham squad, Matt Morizio. Was a counselor at the camp I went to a few years back. He didn't recognize me.
  16. Who do you guys play next?
  17. Who's Wilson?
  18. He likely wouldn't get dominated, but he might not have the same kind of stats. He'd be a 13-15 win pitcher with a 3.50-4 ERA IMO.
  19. He also showed signs of power in 2003 and 2004, hitting a combined 41 homers. He has only hit over 10 homers in one other season.
  20. Who would you rather have, Beckett who walked 2 guys in the inning?
