  1. Paps won't win MVP, no matter how much he deserves it. EDIT: I meant Cy Young, but not MVP either.
  2. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  3. All right, but at this point, the Sox and Yanks pitching staffs are not very good either. The wild card could come out of the east, but as it stands now, not likely.
  4. Lester should go at least 6 innings, hopefully more, against a weak Royals lineup. But then again, the A's lineup is worse.
  5. Well, I'm not gonna lie, I'm worried, but there is still hope. This has been mentioned a lot, but you cannot expect Matsui and Sheffield to be 100% when they come back, if they do come back. The Sox should get another starter, and hopefully a reliever to get Seanez or Tavarez out of here. This is gonna be a fun last couple of months, as always, because this time, the loser probably does go home.
  6. Yeah, that trade has truly f***ed us up this year. 1st place in arguably the best division in baseball, probably next to the AL Central.
  7. Figured, Young would be a welcome addition. Anyone to get Johnson/Snyder out of here. And don't give me that Snyder is good ********, he sucks royal dick.
  8. Aren't they like 5.5 back in the WC? If so, they're not done yet, go after a Tom Gordon or someone, bolster the bullpen more, and they could be back in business.
  9. Just like to thank Matt for this great idea.
  10. Going back to Lieber, I would love to see him, a #2 starter even, and he showed not only can he succeed in the AL, but can thrive in pressure situations, I.E. ALCS Game 2 in 2004, and basically that whole season in 2004. If we can get him, do it, but it likely will not be cheap. See what the offer is.
  11. Yankees win after a Rivera scare, bases loaded 0 outs in the top of the 9th up by 3, he gets out, 6-5 the final.
  12. He'll (hopefully) get back on track vs. Royals on Wednesday.
  13. Trade Manny, and Ortiz doesn't produce as much either, because he'll get walked even more.
  14. Ortiz is MVP, he is the most valuable player in the league. Game on the line, he's who you want. That's valuable. Also, he brings us more value when he doesn't play the field.
  15. Beckett is not a bust. If he was 36, maybe, but he's 26, and to be quite honest, I'm not that disappointed this year. 11 wins isn't bad. Tonight hasn't been great, but one night doesn't make a career. EDIT: Except for Buckner and Grady.
  16. Why are we still discussing trading Manny? He seems happy, and he is performing as good as always. We have the best 3/4 combo in baseball, why are we looking to split that up?
  17. Snake draft, 1st in the 1st round goes last in the 2nd, and so on..
  18. Can't wait until a Wells-Ponson matchup, if Wells ever comes back. A couple fat drunks on the mound.
  19. This should be a good game, Oakland has a bad offense, and Beckett pitching, and the Sox are not very good against lefties. Got the makings of a 3-2, 4-3 game.
  20. Breslow called up, taking place of Johnson until Monday, when Snyder will come up.
  21. That's a doozy of a trade. Kiss the playoffs g'bye Cinci.
