  1. Yeah that bullpen was SUPERB in the 2003 playoffs.
  2. A big time closer is a huge thing to have to win titles, just ask the Yankees.
  3. You're right about the RBI's, one gets one for a groundout with runners at second and third, and doesn't for a double with a man at first when he doesnt' score. However, if Varitek does not improve, the catcher's situation is not fine. Maybe he is just over the hill, he is old, and catchers wear and tear earlier than most. I sure hope he has a few solid years left, but you have to wonder.
  4. Papelbon should close, why mess with a good thing? He might not be a great starter, but he's proven he can be a great closer.
  5. They're skipping Gabbard, it will be Lester, Beckett, Schilling vs. Angels.
  6. Good luck to him finding that. As far as shortstops are concerned, that's more Michael Young money than Julio Lugo money.
  7. yeah i've liked him for a while.
  8. The only plausable explanation!
  9. Yeah, and Verlander. And a guy named Papelbon in the bullpen. Good ROY race.
  10. Yeah I have heard Sunday night against the Angels from numerous sources.
  11. Welcome, nice first posts.
  12. Pitching matchup looks good, but the Sox are notoriously poor facing a pitcher for the first time. Win this one and split the road trip at least.
  13. Sunday vs. Angels is what it says on rotoworld.
  14. Johnson worked outta that one, 5-2 after 6.
  15. If McCarthy isn't in the deal, how does it get done?
  16. Not that good? I disagree, his numbers have been very good. He has not lived up to his full potential, yes, but those numbers would be welcome in any lineup.
  17. Damn, what a 3-4-5-6 this would be: Thome, Konerko, Soriano, Dye.
  18. No, he has already set his place in Red Sox history as a key member of the choke squad. He would never be welcome here anyway. Even by the players. How awkward...Varitek and ARod.
  19. This is gonna be a tough one.
  20. They're places where you can customize T-shirts, but I think they got that already.
