IBB, and now Zobrist is coming in from RF to play as a 5th infielder. Didn't that happen in a Sox-Yankees game in 2004?
EDIT: If you're going to have a 2 man outfield, why not play them in LF-CF and RF-CF, rather than just not have a RF?
They're both knuckleballs. Just shows that Kotts has experience working with it. But as we talked about in the Wakefield thread, most catchers could probably do it.
IIRC, he didn't really give it much of a shot. He caught him a couple times but just thought it was too much. He was definitely considering retirement anyway.
I really think anyone can catch him with some ST practice. It's not a bad thing for him to be the backup catcher's specific pitcher, just because it gives the starter scheduled rest, but our choice of backup catcher shouldn't be based on who can catch Wake best.
Figure there will be plenty of minor signings (not minor leagues, just not big splashes) that won't deserve their own thread.
The Blue Jays signed Adam Loewen and claimed 2002 #1 overall pick Bryan Bullington off of waivers. Apparently Loewen really wanted to play in Canada, he's Canadian.

Well are we talking about Schilling over Wakefield for the entire year? If so, then yes, there are a ton more variables. Maybe Schilling gets us a couple extra wins and gets us the division. Maybe the rotation is set up differently. Too many variables.
