  1. It's Tito's job to utilize the staff THEO and the FO provides him with...he did not sign Seanez. What's he to do? Not use part of his bullpen at the expense of the other members of the staff, wearing them out by early September?
  2. or a broke-back sort of attraction where you're not "really" into that sort of thing but the circumstances...in this case the light-colored suit....just took control of you?
  3. please tell me you are not a dude.
  4. his wife has a nice rack....wonder who put them in for her?
  5. Apparently Posada was asked to block the door and was about as effective at that as he is in blocking home plate.
  6. been many years since I've seen one Red.
  7. I'd call this uneven. Tejadas numbers are better overall and he doesn't play with a lineup around him anywhere near as good as Jeter does. A better comparison might be Jeter vs. Young...similar except Jetes has more SB.
  8. and in the head
  9. yes you can speak for us, Your Crunchiness.... let sleeping dogs lie we don't need Liver Lips waking up now and carrying this team...let's hope he falls flat a few times and starts getting booed at home again, just to keep the heat on him.
  10. the team plays it? Was that Loretta on guitar and Mirabelli on keys? Damn these guys are multi-talented.
  11. of course it was clutch. I even heard that they went and got the ball for him. I wonder if it was because it was his 100th as a Yankee, as the team has stated... or whether it was really to commemorate his first clutch hit in who knows how long.
  12. but they have the former "best all-around player in baseball" in ARod, don't they? i love the way this is playing out and hope he continues to NOT carry the team...fkn 2005 MVP my ass...he's a number hanger.
  13. Bingo, Seano. this is the big question. The Sox F.O. has stated publicly that you can't contend every year and retain some sense of overall organizational strength, fiscal responsibility and a positive future. I believe it was Theo who said its 6-7 yrs out of every 10 that they felt the Sox could go for it, and that periodic rebuilding was essential to meeting the long-term organizational goals. Yankees tend to operate under a different philosophy or so it appears...what they do this year will be very interesting. Personally if they're going to rape their farm system I hope they do it going after more offense, like Carlos Lee...cuz if they were able to grab some established pitching (i.e. SMOLTZ) I'd be more concerned.
  14. its all about command and developing movement. the arm is there. there are no guarantees, we just sit back and watch. should be interesting to follow him.
  15. stranger things haver happened. sometimes we (we being non-Yankee fans) get caught up thinking in terms of our own teams situations...i.e. the Sox wouldn't likely make such a move. However the Yankees operate under different circumstances and with vastly greater resources and while such a deal may not immediately be about money, money enters into the equation at some point. For example a minor league system can be somewhat restocked by accepting trades of older over-priced players (aka salary dump) assuming young pitching talent accompanies the albatross they accept.
  16. (1) He just turned 21 on June 25th. (2) Struck out 90 this year while walking 33 in 85 innings of work (3) Baseball America's #4 prospect amongst college juniors (4) Many projected him to go in the top 10 in the MLB draft Let's give him a chance to get over the f*ck job his defense and the ump did on him before we talk about what he needs to do at the next level...krist, all these young guys have a lot to learn from pro coaches and assistants...I'm just glad the Sox selected a guy with such clear talent and POTENTIAL.
  17. not bad at all? I thought he was fantastic. shoddy defense was the main issue but in the inning where OSU went up by one he also got screwed by the ump...belt high fast ball not even on the edge called a ball. one of the worst calls i have EVER seen. This kid reminds me a bit of Hansen...tall, thin, with an electric arm.
  18. If Willie Mays was a 5-tool player..... did his pants fit him like a glove? hehehehe, I slay me.
  19. the plain truth. taking his best years in a Sox uniform and isolating them....he was the best pitcher I have EVER seen. Period. too bad the "Fenway Faithful" is no longer predominantly comprised of "real fans"
  20. I didn't know Mays was deformed like that. Imagine being born with 5 tools. I'm assuming he also had 10 balls? nothing? no? not even a titter? tough forum.
  21. no, you can't blame him, and crunch didn't blame him...he just said it was ironic.
  22. she probably was asking for it. fkn bitch had it comin'. (just kidding.)
