The team has won two titles this decade, they've indicated they can't compete with the Yanks for EVERY free agent, they've stated that they can go for it something like 6 or 7 of every 10 years, but that they know there will be seasons where they take a step back for the LT health of the organization.
This may be one of those years...certainly the relatively low-cost moves they DID make this offseason allow them that latitude.
Relax...if you're looking for a wire to wire victory every year, you're expectations are unrealistic. Let it play out...if the season progresses and they're in contention, but have some holes, THEN they should seek to fill them. To react NOW could be very dangerous. It could turn out that, because of diminishing performances (i.e. Ortiz, Matsu, etc.) and injury, that this team may simply not be good enough to contend this year...you can't start making radical moves that cost the team long-term but which still don't get you much in the way of results.
