  1. meanwhile the mullets continue to be pummeled by the sub .500 slapshots.
  2. Does he know how to do that? Has he ever done that? Wasn't it Gene Michael that set things in motion in the 90's, with an assist from Bob Watson who took over in 95 or 96?
  3. "Life After Jeter," a spoken word book by Alex Rodriguez. Highlights: "We (Derek Jeter and I) want to kill each other. I think we both drive each other and motivate each other. But, when we're off the field, we're like family...That makes it more of a healthy relationship." "We (Derek Jeter and I) always talk about getting old, gray, and fat when our careers are over and just having a good time. He's like me. He wants to have a good time and be a good person. It's a weird situation for us. It's just like we're looking in the mirror. the only difference is I'm on the West Coast and he's on the East Coast." "You go from sleeping over at somebody's house five days a week, and now you don't sleep over."
  4. Faaak. I'm down 8-0 already. The clunker from Marty hurts, generally I win my goalie categories. I think I'm going down in flames!
  5. As if you bleacher f***s weren't obnoxious enough!
  6. There'll be a number of pitchers contending for HOF honors in the next few years. Clemens woulda been a shoe-in if not for the PED allegations Pedro is in Glavine is in Randy Johnson is in Maddux is in After that there is Schilling, John Smoltz (who excelled as a closer for 3 of 4 years and likely would have won 250 if he remained a starter)...I think both get in. Then you get to the real fringe guys...Mussina gets some play, he's won 54 more games than Schilling, has 2800 strikeouts, but has a higher era than Schill or Smoltz and has never won anything. After that it the list weakens...some have mentioned Kevin Brown...I say no way...211 wins and less than 2400 K's, despite a career ERA of 3.28 ain't gonna get it done...not without an outstanding postseason career.
  7. Brodeur and the Devils with a bit of a clunker last night...I am in deep trouble now. After last night I now have 2 or three less goalie starts the rest of the week and 7 less forwards starting. Unless my goalies do something unreal and I steal all 4 goalie categories I am done.
  8. Oh, ok. So is it pure irony...or something more...that maybe he did dabble in penis, and you've also offered to snort off of a shlong? Not that there's anything wrong with it if that's how you happen to roll.
  9. Didn't Bowie used to suck it?
  10. Who is Smokey Slapshots? I was pulling for Red Wings, cuz he wold have less players playing this week. Oh well. I just went through this weeks matchup. I think I'm screwed unless some guys have HUGE weeks for me. Smokey has 33 forwards going to my 26...16 D to my 15, and 9 potential goalie starts to my 8. That's one thing that sucks about this format...over the course of the regular season it all evens out, but in a one-week playoff, if you just happen to have guys who's teams aren't playing a lot in a particular week, you're f***ed. I might have to make moves just to get bodies on the ice.
  11. Last I checked it looked like the 1st round of our playoffs was pretty tight. Good to see.
  12. Actually...at this point the best thing that could happen to the Bruins is that they play the Habs in Rd 1. Nothing else seems to get these guys to play a focused 60 minutes, perhaps the rivalry would get them back on track.
  13. Drew hit by pitch...reports say he could have gotten out of the way of the pitch if only his knee wasn't sprained and his back didn't go into spasm and his neck wasn't tight and his wrist wasn't strained and his eyes didn't have conjunctivitis and he didn't have jock itch, hemmorhoids, a toothache and a large oozing pimple on his ass. Krist, this guy is a f***ing train wreck.
  14. Very in depth post, Ziggy.
  15. Not the greatest is an understatement. Of course they don't build stadiums in "Fort Apache the Bronx", but just because it isn't the worst doesn't make it good. Compare that to the Fenway neighborhood, where you could not know where you're going and still be relatively comfortable. And ing'ant is defending the s*** hole known as Yankee Stadium.
  16. I just looked on NHL.com, looks like 1 game in hand, but that makes it potentially only a 2 pt lead. If the playoffs started today, they'd draw Carolina. Not a great matchup, but what matchup would be good now? None I say. If the B's win 7 of their remaining 11, only NJ would have a legit chance to capture 1ts overall in the conference, and they'd have to win 9 of 12 to tie the B's. Here's my wild ass guess what they do the rest of the way: Kings W Devils L LEafs W FLyers L TB W Sens W Rangers L Sens L HAbs L Sabres W Islanders W 6-5 rest of the way. One extra win gets them that 7th W and makes it tough on Jersey. The other side is, depending on who finishes 6,7,8, we might not want them to win the conference...although to not win it means they're probably playing like s***.
  17. Any guess what that favorite song would be? I don't know much of her stuff (thank God) but a quick google search gave me some possibilities: Like a Prayer - controversial, cross burning, etc. could be a bad one to leak out The Beast Within - how appropriate Beautiful Stranger - equally appropriate Deeper and Deeper - how he takes Madonna's strap on Vogue - most approprate..."strike a pose" ARod.
  18. And advertisement I saw when visiting the link above said: "Papelbon's IQ = 116" That's hard to believe.
  19. I'm on record saying that Fenway should be dismantled and if they want someone to flip the switch on its implosion, I'll do it with s smile on my face. I don't wax poetic too often about these parks...Fenway was not designed for todays-sized fans, and you feel it when you are there...and if you're unlucky enough to be in the RF grandstand, have fun looking out at CF. Yankee Stadium, on the other hand, is just a filthy vile place to watch a game...and after the game you take your life into your hands as you venture into the 'hood. SHoulda gone to Jersey a long time ago.
  20. if it ain't broke...don't fuk widdit.
  21. Where's ARod on your list? He's a U.S. guy...no wait, Dominican...no wait...U.S...etc?
