I thought Matsuzaka only had the ceiling of a 3. At least, that was according to your scouts. A 3 will command 11-13 million a year. Can't have it both ways, Jackson. Either you think he' s ace caliber and will get ace money or he's a 3 and will get 3 money. -

Well, in a market where a guy like Jamie Walker gets 12 mil for being a LOOGY, then i really can't blame the FO for lack of movement on that part. I'm assuming they think relief help is coming in a Manny trade/any other subsequent trades that happen.

I'm really not beat up on not signing Borowski. Face it, he's not that good. The upside of a Gagne or a Dotel is much better than the mediocrity you'd get out of Borowski.

I wouldn't put him in the closers spot as of now, December 4th. But he's a solid arm when healthy and we can do a lot worse IMO.

JD Drew has had health issues in the past, but the last few years he has been relatively healthy. The season where he missed a lot of time, 2005, was when he was hit by a pitch. I agree that if the Red Sox want their best team on the field, they keep Manny and sign Drew to replace Trot. That we can all agree on as an upgrade.

Having Foulke back would be fantastic. If he's healthy, he's better than any pitcher on the FA market available.

Hahaha, amazing. I agree...the best things the Sox can do are keep Manny, sign Drew, sign Lugo, and sign Matsuzaka.

I'd much rather have Broxton than Penny.

Alfonso Soriano is not Manny Ramirez. Penny/Broxton/Kemp/Loney would also be adequate. The Sox need to play hardball if they're going to trade Manny and really try to get equivalent value.

Broxton and Kemp really need to come back from LAD in any deal we make with them.
