  1. Cora isn't so bad. Too bad we couldn't have beckett bat for Harris!
  2. not to be the dud---but that crap isn't funny!
  3. Someone get Wang a clean pair shorts!
  4. one thing i think will go unnoticed is the great read on the ball by loretta so he could score--he was right behind youk! Ohh ya, as i type manram dead center baby!
  5. Where's riv tonight with his "melky is an all-star" rant---i would have expected it after that double!
  6. all the pitches shill got burned on that inning he left up and too much plate....let's hope he can correct that!
  7. I am sure i am in the minority here--but i have not given completely up on dinardo. Ya yesterday was terrible, but let's all remember that he hadn't pitched in a game in 2 weeks! How would shill or beckett do if they had been on the shelf for 2 weeks and then thrown out there? I wouldn't mind seeing what Abe can do, or Lester later in the year (if he comes up i think it's after the all-star break), but i would rather not see the fatman trying to up his paycheck at our expense because those knees are a bomb waiting to happen.
  8. Wow, imagine gonzo's mindset if he was batting after beckett!
  9. Pedro pitched a gem today and then the bullpen crapped the bed! It's pretty amazing how well he has adapted to his loss in velocity, fun to watch him pitch today!
  10. Welcome to talksox--looks like another quality member:rolleyes:
  11. Watching pedro pitch today was just fun. He is such a smart pitcher adapting to his loss in velocity. Let's hope the pen can keep it together!
  12. I like ORS advice on following SOSH's pattern. When we win the person who made that thread does so again until we lose, then it's up in the air. Keep the mojo going! Yeah baby!!!!
  13. given the relative east that youk seems to adapt to a new position, it would be interesting to see! What are the odds of Cora seeing some starts?
  14. I am not saying that papi should play in the field on a regular basis. However with that said what about just using him in case something happens during a game (injury ect...) and then if we need to we bring up choi. At least that way if frees up the dead roster spot that snow has been using!
  15. We already have a back-up 1st basemen------Papi:D
  16. At least gammo can be objective!
  17. The ignorance of the O's broadcast team is scary. They put up the Sox starting defense and had Millar listed at 1st. Then the announcers went through the defense and talked about each position and commented on Millar at 1st for the sox. I may start a petition to MLB to be able to get every game on NESN with MLB extra innings!
  18. sorry should have been more clear in my statement---i don't want o-cab at his current price. i meant if all things were equal i would prefer o-cab. this is simply my opinion becuase i thought that o-cab played so much better under the pressure of playing in boston. i don't think i ever compared him with nomar I am not disputing that gonzo is an amazing defensive ss. I was simply making the point that if all things were equal i would rather have o-cab. I am very thankful to have gonzo's glove though--still amazed how fast his hands are!
  19. You really outdid youself with this one!
  20. This may be the greatest post I have ever read! Amen brother:thumbsup:
  21. Just head part of an interview with Shill from last night where he said something to the effect of: My split was staying up, and i don't have that extra umph on my fastball anymore---and i need to adjust to that! So at least shill knows what he needs to do--let's hope he can pull it all together!
  22. I think one other thing we are overlooking is the fact that there are some plays that he makes look routine that we were not getting at all last year. One example is the play in the 9th last night---when we only had a 1 run lead.
  23. The last time the yanks put up big numbers on the sox was in game 3 of the 04ALCS--that was followed by 4 losses as the sox went on to win the WS! See, we can both get nostalgic about great times for our teams that have nothing to do with this thread!!
