  1. The yanks scored 14runs----please stop talking about quality pitching!
  2. I would rather keep Snow just in case of an "God forbid" injury to Youk. Regarding the Nixon issue, why would we trade one of our best hitters, who plays a great RF especially in Fenway--for a guy who is a shell of his former self. I know Pena is playing great, but he's been playing great in center--not in right! Let's not forget his RF issues earlier this year. I feel a whole lot more comfortable with Trot in right!
  3. Let's hope you are right!
  4. Between the two I think shill has a better chance of pitching well. For a couple reasons: 1-because he is younger, 2- becuase he thinks through the batters more, i think he can adapt well. RJ just seems to be so stubborn, and he's lost his edge as people are not afraid of him anymore and that was a big plus for him throughout his career! With that said however i am not ready to stick a fork in him!
  5. I would still rather have O-Cab. I think O-Cab plays as good or close to the same D as gonzo but with a better bat. O-Cab seemed to be one of those players that shined in boston---the bigger the stage the better the performance! With that said i have been more than pleased with his D this year, what amazes me more than anything is how quick his hands are. During the 1st game against the O's he turned a DP that i had to rewind (DVR) to see again because he turned it so quick. It's def better for my health that gonzo is here this year as i was a nervous wreck in any key position last year hoping that the play wouldn't involve rent-a-wreck. In short, i am glad we have gonzo--but would be happier with O-Cab!
  6. That's what i kept hearing, especially last year. Let's also not forget about the bout he had with "dead arm"!
  7. WEEI is ok--i would much rather listen to that then some other nuts out there. "dale and holley" are good, and "the big show" is pretty good if you filter out some of the crap there. For the most part though they have good insights!
  8. With all the rain-out's and then the off day tommorow---i am looking forward to this one. Bring on the dead birds!
  9. This is what worries me. It's what's been happening in Foxboro; all the "magic" and "atmosphere" of the old Foxboro stadium is disapearing. Anytime you even stand up some knucklehead tells you to sit down, and you better not make too much noise and upset some of the people on their cell phones. All of the "real fans" are too far away from the field to make any real difference in game. I just hope Fenway doesn't turn into that.
  10. No joke, and it's amazing that there is a "new" pic everytime!
  11. I only caught the 1st few innings, but was a great game up until that point and finished great with a win for the good guys. Just wanted to make a point about that timeout that was called when miggy was up. I know beckett got upset, but in my mind he had every reason to: the ump called timeout when beckett was already in his windup--that's crap. From what i have heard that can cause damage to a pitcher to stop in the middle of his windup! I was surprised though that beckett didn't earhole miggy! He pitched a great game and nice to see pena and tek getting some good ab's!
  12. Geez let's not get started on McIdiot---he's as bad as Glanville calling football games!
  13. Bingo, i heard that mentioned on the pre-game show. Loretta is a rep and sounded like the players were not going to go for that. That makeup date is at the end of a tough stretch but it would still be better than a 5games in 3 day stint!
  14. I agree. He has looked great at the plate--and seems to get better with more ab's. He's also looked good in the field, center that is! Let's not forget his antics in RF. Playing right in fenway is crazy and trot does it very well--let's not dump trot just yet!
  15. I couldn't have said it better myself. I think everyone wants a roof when we get washed out--but how often does that really happen? There is no way I would want a roof!!!!
  16. Just be in the lead after 5 innings, that's what it might take tonight. I live about 3 hours south of baltimore and the weather around here is off and on. Sun for an hour, then rain for an hour, then sun, then cloudy--just weird! Let's get this game in!
  17. Well, to add a little to this: i watched the 1st 2 games of the series on YES and the 3rd on ESPN. What i found funny was that during the 3rd I got bombarded with a lot of older yank highlights---i forget how many times i saw the aaron boone highlight from 03. There were actually more yank highlights on ESPN than on YES...at least that's what i remember! Ohh and i really like Berman (morgan's partner) but i would prefer to hear him do football where he is at his best!
  18. Actually it sounded like he was forcasting that based on 3 games in the majors this year!
  19. What will they do with him then???? When sheff comes back either he rides the bench or goes back to AAA to get regular ab's. right now in his career the regular playing time is to the yanks advantage rather than have him on the bench. Besides i would venture a guess that if he was not getting the regular ab's for the yanks, then he wouldn't be to good in those spot starts!
  20. at least they called this one early!
  21. Do we know the extent of sheff's injury??? All i heard was a wrist injury.
  22. I was responding to your post--i know we have 3/4 of the season to go and we are in may. We are talking semantics here---i was just pointing out that by your logic in looking in the loss column if we are in this position at the end of the year, you assume the yanks win the 2 remaining games. I don't assume anything. Anyway it's may and it looks like 2 days with no baseball--so that sucks!
  23. I understand what you are saying, and have everytime you try and make this point. The fact remains that we are both going to play 162 games and you are assuming that the 2 games the yanks haven't played yet that the sox have, they are going to win---that's all i am pointing out. I assume nothing! If they split them, we are in the same boat as last year!
  24. and the delusion continues! Right now we are tied. I know you want to look only at the loss column, but that means you are assuming a yanks win in the game that hasn't been played yet!
  25. What a bogus loss! This game should have never been played. I know that the schedule says a loss--but this game was really over once the rain hit. On top of that it looks like clement is injured! Stupid umps!
