  1. If he stinks, how can we trade him? Who wants a crappy backup catcher? I don't think even the Royals (or Rockies) are that desperate. I don't think he will stink it up though.
  2. Where the heck will we play all those guys? Its not like we have alot of no name players that we want to replace them with young pups.
  3. Thanks Red! If that is the case, he should be the backup no questions asked. Unless he really stinks up the joint this spring.
  4. I think older than Ortiz is, plus didn't Mo play in the field alot? Papi doesn't, so that should help.
  5. It will be interesting. I wish we could have Mirabelli back, especially now that the Padres got Piazza to start. I was happy for Doug before, because I thought he would get to start out there, but now I want him back.
  6. But does Bard have minor league options left??
  7. Everyone compares him to Mo Vaughn - I just hope his career does follow Mo's too closely and take a nose dive with a bunch of injuries.
  8. I know the contract we gave Flaherty lets us drop him, but my question is what do we do with Bard if he doesn't make the team? It seems we payed a hefty price to get him (Shoppach, Marte, Mota for Crisp, Bard, Riske), we should try to use him, especially since he is younger than Flaherty. I'm sure he will miss him, but Wake had been around a long time before Mirabelli came around and managed, so I think he will be fine.
  9. So Flaherty looking like he will make the team over Bard? Can we send Bard to Pawtucket?
  10. You if want to do a search for Ben Affleck, do it on Google, not here. No one here wants to talk about Ben Ass Smack
  11. Flarherty or Bard, whichever one makes the team.
  12. I don't know why Juan is even still around. He hasn't done anything since the late 90's.
  13. It's funny how every offseason players come back saying they are "in the best shape of their careers." Everyone is saying how much better Schilling looks this year (weight wise), but still looks pretty fat to me.
  14. I liked Chan Ho's kung fu kick...
  15. If you like biographies Ted Williams is pretty good.
  16. Imagine how few players will want to do it in 4 years. It will be like Olympic basketball, but worse...
  17. I don't think we should retire the number of every great player that played for the Sox. We should keep some standards, unlike the Yanks.
  18. Though I can't picture anyone else with #45, I doubt they will retire his number. It's too bad too.
  19. We need to get all these obvious steriod guys out. We got Palmerio, Sosa, McGwire, and now Bonds out. Who is left?
  20. It is kinda funny how we will applause Pedro (I would), but have all this hate and animosity to Damon (I do), who really did the same thing Pedro did. I think the big difference is that Pedro didn't go to the Yanks, which really makes what Damon did tough to swallow (though I am sure his wife will be doing plenty of that).......oh, sorry that probably wasn't called for.......
  21. Nice to see there is something that Yank and Sox fans agree on - that Guillen is a media whore who should just shut up....
  22. Guillen should have just kept his mouth shut, even though ARod does constantly make an ass out of himself.
  23. I hate this "eats innings" phrase. Who gives a crap if he pitches alot of innings, but gives up a ton of runs (or home runs in Weaver's case).
  24. There is a reason no one signed him before now. Overrated pitcher with a bad attitude.
