  1. Pedroia Youkilis Ortiz Ramirez Lowell Drew Varitek Lugo Ellsbury Ellsbury essentially becomes a second leadoff hitter in the slot where he'll see the most amount of good pitches.
  2. Ummm, I'm thinking it's more like "Kosovo wasn't that bad... you know, for a Beach Boys song... they were seabeachfred's favorite band... three favorite bands ago... some people have no honor or loyalty."
  3. I'd do Clay Buchholz, Coco Crisp and Jed Lowrie if Santana were amenable to signing for 4/5 years.
  4. Talie, I think it was one hooker plus Arod dressed in drag. BTW, great call on the Fair Tax: http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer
  5. It's done: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3118926
  6. http://a74.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/18/l_f63518585c14baf5e692141911aa1a51.jpg Too bad I missed that one. I think there was a game on that night.
  7. I'm pretty sure he could demonstrate that he's a legal resident of FL but still owe resident income tax in NY by virtue of their tax laws and the amount of time he spends at his NY property. As has been pointed out, he's already paid some NY income tax because anyone who works in NY pays some income tax to them. The difference in the resident versus non-resident amount won't be as much as the fines and interest he'll potentially own. I have little sympathy for the wealthy who get caught trying to exploit tax loopholes and twist tax law. While they pay more than many of us, their percentage of income paid in taxes is frequently lower than those of us who live the life of the ever shrinking middle class. Plus, he pretty much owes his living to the people of NY who support is team and buy is merchandise. The income from endorsements argument is moot because his value as a brand spokesman or personality is directly related to his being the NY shortstop.
  8. The darkness never goes from some men's eyes
  9. Barry Bonds* is an ass.
  10. Guaranteed money until he's 42?!?!
  11. I'm surprised they didn't offer him 4yrs/52mil. I think they have that contract on a rubber stamp.
  12. Doesn't Thumper play 3B?
  13. Ny signs guys who are decent initially and over the hill when they leave. At some point NY has to stop signing old men to long contracts. Unless, of course, Geritol is buying the naming rights to the new stadium.
  14. Good. And I'll bet the Sox will be treated like the home team by the fans.
  15. Who loses the home games?
  16. Posada, Rivera, Payrod with 10 years... This will be a wheelchair baseball team pretty soon.
  17. The upside is that we may be able to bring Lowell back for a little less scratch now.
  18. He has no credibility, and the NY organization had very little. Collectively, they now have negative credibility. When it's all said and done, the general consensus will be that Bora$ bullshitted his way to another giant, overblown payday for himself and his client.
  19. arod.com
  20. Damn skippy. WTG, Tanner. Go to the end of the bench and have a cold one with Buttermaker, you've earned it.
