  1. what seperates youk from being great is his lack of power thats it in a nutshell his glove is setting records, his obp is solid,he works the count and drives in his share of runs. it isnt easy getting gravy rbi's hitting behind manny papi and even lowell, who had 120 rbi last summer youk i feel is either an ideal 2 hitter if he had more speed or an ideal 5 hitter if he had more power.... wherever he hits he is a gigantic pain in the ass to the opponents early in the season but seems to fade later in the year...hopefully he can maintain thruout
  2. well if pete rose isnt in the hall of fame and joe jaxon isnt in the hall of fame and JIM ED RICE isnt in the hall of fame and Mark Mcguire dont even approach the hall of fame I dont think that the con man from Katy is going in anytime soon. Hes more embarassing than bringing the class pump to the Senior Formal then puking on yourself before you get her dress into your glove compartment. what an *******
  3. detroit isnt as close to a lock as the patriots were in february but ahhh ahem.... i like them to win it all rather easily as colorado i felt was possibly a team that could stop em....they go down 4-0 and like sheep in game 4.... 8 f***ing goals in a playoff game? i dont recall that in recent memory
  4. much like joe dumars from the pistons, david eckstein has gotten so much attention for being underated hes become overrated in the process.. he should give 1/2 his salary to curtis granderson due to his efforts in the 06 series...
  5. i wonder how long joe girardi can walk the fine line between alcohol and drug abuse and working for fredo steinbrenner? i know id have a side arm in the dugout just in case.
  6. i like delcarmen but i have a lot more confidence in okijima
  7. cockpumpersplendid description of the man who couldnt miss. i am now wondering if the yanks have hit a phase like the sox did for 86 years where they cant catch a break. the more i think of it the more i like the fact that we didnt get santana but the performances of the youngsters make that much easier to swallow but what of the yankees? are they still happy about holding on to the untouchable phil hughes and ian kennedy? somewhere fredo steinbrenner is furious over something he knows little about
  8. le monde has a big sunday spread albeit the sister of das kapital, right along the lines of the globe christ i hate shank and his opinions
  9. habs got mugged again the flyers are just moving them around at will creating chaos all over the ice the broad street bullies sans bobby""colgate smile""clark and my old ex bruin stud reggie leach....we traded leach to the california golden seals for......carol vadnais vadnais wasnt half bad leach scored 64 goals in either 75 or 76 and clark won a couple mvps and cups with bernie parent playing hellacious net. 1974 game 7 they beat our homies 1-0 as orr went the penalty box with 2.22 left to play. ironic how those filthy **********s got the best player ever off the ice in the last minutes of game 7....i hate kate smith
  10. we were discussing the sox pitching near the bottom of the league a couple days ago something about walks and hits given up etc... i like guys who give up 1 when we get 2 or 5 when we get 6... nice effort to get it done and the dice man is shining this year theyre still catatonic at the plate but that will change whats great is the confidence in the questionable area of our rotation nice effort and the yanks got beat again
  11. you miss shank? my God thats just awful. my man in the land of gay paris i would suspect there are a lot of people who are dressed like clowns doing their marcel marceau routines, pick 1 and beat him with a sunday globe until his hair and face turn a bright orange.
  12. i see a lot less of these guys coming out than in years past of course the goalies now are f***ing huge, physical specimens who skate as well as the next guy.... i still think the west is just way better than the east a much faster game with better passing and more quality players.
  13. kids arent as wide eyed as they once were but speaking for myself i had guys i idolized but baseball players werent among them i did like freddy lynn but i liked john havlicek and dave cowens a lot more if i wanted to be anyone outside myself? perhaps my 5th grade teacher who was humping every other teacher in the school and brought in his tv for the 75 playoffs and world series but was never put to the test because there were no afternoon games,im sure there was 1 scheduled but because both teams who played, swept their series the need for tv wasnt there. he was also a guy who worked for the state theater and got us all movie passes, took the entire 5th grade camping locally and we had to build our own shelter as part of a bicentennial project and then at the end of the year we went to sargents camp in nh for a week....every lunch hour between 1130-1 we'd play either softball or full contact football and we'd walk from the school to the fields in an orderly way because this guy WOULD put his hands on you if you f***ed up...it was a very unstructured environment to study in and he seemed to have the world by the balls. he and the 4th grade teachers would walk us as a class after school to CCD every wednesday in complete defiance of seperating church from state... a different time altogether. of course he quit teaching after 3 years and ended up a real estate mogul who is now worth 8 figures....
  14. you need proof of the inferiority of nl vs al pitching? its painfully evident watching chris carpenter winning cy youngs in st louis while getting his smacked around like a 10.00 whore the nite before rents due while in toronto. clemens was a cy young winner in houston but was average at best in ny. randy johnson carl pavano and jarret wrights adventures in the bronx speak for themselves its really not that difficult to see in my opinion.
  15. whats wrong with roger? he was born in texas for openers which means 15 is eligible he makes pedro martinez sound like gore vidal with his grasp of english or lack there of. he is amongst the worst big game pitchers ever hes a f***ing jerk. this is redundant he belongs behind bars for life with suzy waldman in his ear the entire time
  16. lots of boarding calls i been riding detroit thruout the playoffs and seem to be the team to beat i dont think dallas can hang with them in the west in the east pitt and philly and i wouldnt count philly out
  17. ya its april and the yanks have been beaten up with injury now that miss mabeline is on the dl with a strained quod and jug head posada with his aches pains and whatever. that is a problem that isnt their only issue though. even if everyone is healthy they will have phil hughes ian kennedy and mike mussina pitching for them. mussina seems to have settled down to just s***** rather than dfa material but these other 2 men havent been able to do anything successful and i actually felt bad for their catcher last night who didnt know whether to s*** whistle or wind his watch. i do enjoy the turmoil but as ive said from the get go the american league is going to be a difficult place to hang your hat this year this toronto team cant hit lefties the sox offense is horrid at this hour the yanks have 2 good starters and 3 who blow along with no bullpen to speak of. tampa and baltimore were playing for 1st place last night in the west i think seattle can give anaheim a run for the money but oakland and texas have their moments in the central detroit cleveland and chicago will beat each other senseless while kc struggles to achieve .500,which indeed they may this year. it will be a s*** fight till october for all of us i bet
  18. 1 of the sales managers at work calls me into his office the monday after nomar got traded ""you handle baseball"" ok ""i want to bet against the red sox every single game for the rest of the year"" ok ""you gonna honor this when they go 14-35 the rest of the way"" ya ""they suck without nomar and this will destroy a team that came within 4 outs of the pennant"" ok ""you sure about this"" its what i do ""fine *******,i'm going against the redsox every game from here on out and we'll settle up in october"" no,we settle up weekly and i'll make it ez for you and use the herald line "good, see you next friday"" for 3 weeks this f***bag laid it in against boston every single evening because they traded his hero nomar....i think i beat him out of 2200.00 at 100.00 a game as the sox went on a kick ass tear and this douchebag couldnt figure out how that could be possible but had enuff sense to back off after his wife bounced a 30.00 check at stop and shop and threatened him with divorce. i like baseball but i dont give a fiddlers f*** about the people playing the game because they dont feed my family nor do they give a f*** about me or my family or my fiscal obligations
  19. no sweat sonny i tend to call spades spades
  20. the canadiens are heading for the door it seems they too arent built for the long haul and theyre getting mugged by this philly team
  21. i understand who's fault it is but battling in so many of those games has taken its tole on this rather small framed man.
  22. another of a long line of GOP family values proponents. some of us had this fraud pegged long ago and this stupid f*** is about to lie himself into jail.
  23. celtics again failed to put this away when they had these guys by the short hairs early on. the only good thing about this week is detroit is locked up in a s*** fight with philly. canada is gone as expected in 4 and orlando has been the most consistant teams in the east so far. out west? that denver team needs a penis implant and a complete overhaul on paper they should be terrifying but on the court they play defense like old people f***(meaning they dont) the playoffs are just begining here im rooting for phoenix to take san antone at least 6 deep thats another team that disappoints and is ripe for a house cleaning or at least a coaching change
  24. kidd needs a solid team perhaps with an enforcer to make him shine he had a decent cast in jersey but they were too soft for the pistons
  25. i actually think the rangers have a better team soup 2 nutsover the pens but losing a 3 goal lead in the plyoffs is just awful
