heres a sign tampa has respect the rays were an 8-5 favorite today meaning if you played tampa you had to put 160up to make 100 the yanks got 140 back on 100 thats respect and deservedly so even becks was a tiny favorite over jackson 2 sundays ago when the world champs are using their ace against a team that never won 75 games and they are a 6-5 favorite the dog is getting huge respect the times are a changing -
5/14 @ Baltimore Orioles

lopez gets the 1st 2 guys and then pedroia dives for a ball that wouldve hit him in the shins if he stood still....guy on 1st,2 outs and the 9 hitter up.... lets go to craig hansen?? 1st pitch line drive single, then the bb to load the bases....lets go to oki who has allowed endless inherited runners to score....belt hi fast ball that my 10 year old daughter couldve turned on.... game over lets hope the interim manager comes down with a kidney stone and we can give the keys to the cadillac to someone who understands our staffs limitations. thats 4 games in the last 7 they blew(paps 2 blown saves and these last 2 disasters).. -
actually doc turned a team of high school kids into decent nba products Jefferson is a 20/10 guy, delonte west has developed into a solid player, perkins and powe really came into their own this year as well. what i consider a panic move goes back to the atlanta series in game 6 during crunch time where he pulled rondo in favor of cassell. dont f*** with the guy who got you there. to win on the road you need solid guard play, some snipers who can make an open 16 footer, defensive intensity and rebounding. how they hold teams to under 80 at home yet give up 100 on the road is as much a mystery to me as the disappearance of jimmy hoffa.

its may and mussina has had a few good starts in a row man i like these rays its a f***ing disgrace they cant put 20,000 asses in that god foresaken building its a shame rocco baldelli is finished -
ive had several concussions, the most recent was last july and it took 36 hours before someone forced me into the hospital...the more you get the more easily they occur... of course when i was i drinking and smashing up cars i never knew if it was a concussion or if it was a bleeding hangover.. JHB good point about the pix and its something thats easily forgotten on my end because i rarely view the pawsox or who is coming up from where. as far as the hanley becks deal goes..... in 06 after sanchez tossed the no hitter and i saw becks get crucified in back to back starts against detroit on a monday and the yankees on a saturday afternoon i had my doubts... all that speculation ended last summer and if becks doesnt win another game again in boston he still can strut into any tavern in this town and drink on the house... of course hanley ramirez is one of the most exciting players in the game and will be an mvp before too long..

i think they can win with a lowrie/cora combo lowrie seems to wield a better stick and tito has done a good job using cora in the right place at the right time. how this develops over the next 4 months will be interesting. coco on the other hand has had a good spring, hes hitting running and fielding his spot very well,if they indeed are showcasing him he's been up to the task but with jd drew banged up again they cant afford to move him at this time. drew is even money to miss 80 games this year with his various ailments and his reluctantcy to play thru pain.... i want to like jd drew and we need his production from the left side of the plate but he just cant seem to get out of his own way and spends more time in the trainers room than any other athlete in the city of boston... hes not to be counted on period

its rather amusing how badly theo has f***ed up the shortstop situation over the years. we dump nomie and win the world series with the smooth ocabrerra then we dont even offer him a contract and instead we sign renteria for 40M over 4. due to his anemic .270/34error season we end up paying packing his ass out of town for that 1 season of awful production we paid 19,000,000.00.... now we have hanley waiting in the wings as the heir to the throne but we traded him to miami for becks...i have no problems with that deal because pitching is just an essential commodity that cant be ignored even if it means trading a future MVP...becks delivered in spades last year. alex gonzales gets the gig in 06...9-50-.255 in 111 games but an anemic obp of .299? the way i see it is you can hide a guy like this in our lineup and he was making rather short money, the man was unreal with loretta in the dp wheel and he looked as if he was going to be here for the long haul... not theo enter me and julio down by the school yard lugo and his atrocious 36M/4 deal. what the f*** was that all about? I am not a francona guy when it comes to the xs and o's but he does handle his players very well and they seem to like him very much,he has blended in the old and the new with little disruption and manny hasnt lost a grandparent in over 18 months... but theo on the other hand? i dont know who is luckier theo or bob kraft both cabrerra and gonzales were good fits here and each were cheaper and better than their replacements... nobody is taking lugo and that albatross of a contract and jed lowrie may play lugo out of a job, cora is an adequate if not decent utility player,it makes sense to dump lugo but again, where and how much will it cost us in the end...

i was rooting for them last night how hard is the al east? nys ace gets beat in tampa and bostons ace gets beat in baltimore?? thank god toronto cant score its may 14th and tampa is in 1st place...and still nobody goes to the games pro baseball has no future in florida despite the markets being big enough and the game being as popular there as anywhere else added to the fact that there are literally millions of boston and ny people living there now to pump up division games...and still nobody goes... miami won 2 titles in 6 years and has constantly put out an exciting product yet they cant sell tickets in a place that has 5,000,000 cubans who worship baseball like the english worship soccer...i dont see how MLB can hang on to these franchises... -
was she ever on top? insert dyke joke here
-
ian kennedy? they seem determined to make sure this guy is an emotional wreck by the 1st of june.
-
if doc dont get them thru this series he's unemployed come june and justifiably so. leadership and guard play are the keys to winning on the road they have shown nothing down the stretch that indicates they have what it takes to win on the road can they go 16-0 at home and 0-12 on the road? ya will they? probably not,its never been done to my knowledge and sam cassell rajon rondo and the big 3 dont appear to have it in their make up to get it done.
-
i think the sox have played the harder schedule so far this campaign and add onto that the auspicious world tour to start the season so a 3 game lead is fine with me. we lost our mvp for the 1st month in lowell becks missed a couple starts the youngsters have had growing pains ortiz didnt break .200 till last week and the last time ny saw 1st place gas was under 235 a gallon and hillary clinton was gearing up to face rudolpho guiliani in a run for president... its been a while since ny concerned us

good to see phil hughes getting his adult video gear prepared those japanese folks are very creative in their porn but they restrict the showing of pubic hair which shouldnt be a problem for phil hughes,i hear jetsey and arod take turns shaving his coin purse... tampa bay is decent enuff to play .500 but they still cant sell the dump out even with ny in town -
hes ok his era is 5.5 and this is with him not getting out of the 5th in his last 2 starts patience, give him a chance to get some confidence..
-
12 4th q points and another L on the road they are indeed f***ing pathetic on the road,no confidence no flow to the offense and a tremendous lack of tuffness being displayed by the so called leadership of this team. they dont have to win on the road to win the title but to think that they can sweep at home is naive and rather gullible despite the early returns of the home teams kicking everyones asses.
-
hes coming around william, its not easy for him but its inevitable. it will take a few more years of ball numbing sadness to break him but before he puts his 1st kid on the bus he'll be on the right side of the fence...he has a good sense of ethics and a backbone, theres no way fredo steinbrenner and his gaggle of idiots will keep a guy like this on the dark side unless they get back to winning world series titles and that my friends,is a ways away...
-
detroit has kept me out of bankruptcy theyre 10-2 so far in the playoffs osgood is 8+0,he best stay on the ice for my sake, hasek is toasted these days
-
i dunno jim kelley and marv levy seem to have a lock on futility along with the box heads from minnesota who loved fran tarkenton and the vikings. terrel davis and the denver defense saved john elway and the granola eaters in colorado from a similar plight....the pats were 0-2 in superbowls and a 14 pt underdog against the rams before they changed things forever here....the sox??lets just say the sox changed shoes with the yankees that night in 2004 when kevin brown and derek lowe squared off in game 7...ny has lost all the swagger, some of it was lost that sunday night in arizona, most of it was lost that saturday when becks shut out petitte in 03 and what was left was ripped out of their hands by the sox in 04... they havent been out of the 1st round since based on what we see this year with the saviors being torched and or injured it doesnt look like 08 is the year they get back to the top... its a long season and they do have bottom less resources but i just dont see this combo of old and new meshing into what was....
-
the big 3 along with their head coach are career losers. that said how do you manage to beat teams at home by 25-30 a night and lose badly on the road despite having the best road record in the league? its a combination of leadership and experience the guards set the tone offensively and need to hold onto the ball and make the open shots the big men need to box out and occasionally remind lebron james that despite his millions he isnt entitled to anything, theres nothing wrong with an occasional elbow to the chops or a knee to the thigh to remind him hes in a fight and finally, the big men need to move without the ball, they need to bounce up and down from the box to the top of the key, setting screens and rolling off them, its time for paul pierce to step it up and its time for ray allen to break 40% from the perimeter...i think the damage to rondo's psyche is official, rivers f***ed this kids head up in game 6 in atlanta and he isnt the same player,he seems extremely tentative...a big win tonight would go a long way to solving their road woes,a loss puts cleveland back in the saddle and all the pressure falls back on the celts. anything less than a shot at detroit will cost rivers his job i feel

amateurs now pay attention to your uncle crunchy here. learn how to rest the remote between your forearm and her ankle and if you have the skill you can watch 4 games at once in the missionary position doggie style is easy get the right girl and you can put a tv dinner on her back with an ashtray and if shes big enuff you can stick a couple lbs of ice in one of the many flaps to keep the beer cold. -
thats what the reds need ground ball pitchers, guys who can keep the ball in the park.
-
again i will revert to the inherint character flaw that shows men who cheer for teams outside of their home town struggle with self esteem issues. despite being a gifted 6'8 250lb guy with a great jumper, he hasnt done what it takes to get to the next level. he may yet win a few titles but at this hour the man is dumbfounded confused and incompetant,he aint missing 25 foot contested jumpers, hes missing lay ups, free throws and everything else he throws up..
-
i always liked the reds because they most resembled the sox and were the best team in baseball when i was a kid. i still managed to like them after 1975
-
i played detroit too but i like philly to eat up sidney crosby and the flyers to upset the pengs.. philly dispatched a better washington team and ran thru the rangers like s*** thru a goose. pitt maybe more talented but this philly team is better suited for the playoffs. i could be wrong,it happened before, but i like philly in 6 and im not sure dallas can squeeze a game out of the wings, who are now clicking on all 8 cylinders
