Steve Phillips is an ass hat and I feel he's got the gig on ESPN to target the large audience of homosexuals that follow the game in San Francisco. That said Arroyo became toast almost immediatley after the 05 season,he threw what? 230 ip in 05.. and never again was he anywhere near as good as the 1st half of that season. Cinci gave him 2/25M and then added an extension to that as well? I always liked arroyo but after watching him this year its evident hes got little left. The reds have some new faces out there pitching and Harang and Cordero are established vets who get it done. The trade to dc a couple years ago that sent lopez and kearns never panned out as they wished. I love watching Dunn play,he reminds me of Canseco except he cant hit or run as well. The reds were hitting something like .115 with risp and 2 out and the ss keppinger was the only guy delivering in the clutch... 40hrs 200ks? Jocketty is a good baseball guy but the reds park is taylor made for hitters as is phillys. It maybe a chore to develop young arms in these places.

After 0-6 start, Giants move $126M ace Zito to bullpen
Mr Crunchy replied to redsoxrules's topic in Other Baseball
nice effort by zito against the pirates yesterday jesus he sucks i dont think he broke 85 on the gun and hes now a blistering 0-7 but he did lower his era last evening. i have the pleasure of the baseball package and i have seen so much pathetic baseball this spring i wonder how some teams draw anyone at all.. pac bell is an amazing place and that in itself is the draw that keeps the giants attendence somewhat respectable but the fact is they suck even with some decent young pitching like cain and linecum.... this contract is going to be hung on their neck like a noose. the big 3 of mulder zito and hudson have been reduced to the awful 2 and the mediocre 1. oakland got their moneys worth from these guys and they performed well but now theyre essentially finished with the exception of hudson who has lost a lot from his great years on the bay.... -
ray allen has been disappointing and must step up now 37 minutes and 4 shots attempted against cleveland isnt going to help us. he can shoot as well as anyone in the game but he cant create for himself i saw paul pierces defense the other night,i saw lebron james miss 10 layups as well. pierce has to score,if he then doesnt lebron will eventually eat him alive on the other end of the court... garnett you can go to but the outside game has to show up tonight or they got trouble

...and whoever's playing the Yankees - 2008 Game Thread

and the magic # continues to fall.... the yanks offense is getting old and if damon doesnt produce they have no spark. take arod and jughead out of that lineup and all of a sudden they have no power matsui is essentially toast. cano is 200 points behind last years #s and cabrerra is hitting 280 or less i assume they expected .310 or better from cano and many thought that this would be cabrerras time to shine. right now they need help in all 3 facets of the game pitching hitting defense and perhaps a bottle of valium for the mighty joe girardi who is wondering whats so bad about miami these days.. -
hey he got brian stanton for chrissakes he brought along aaron small and shawn boogaloo chacon. he went out and got a 20 game 18 game and 15 game winner in the fall of 04 after the worst collapse since the roman empire went balls up against the vandals back in the late 5th century. i admire brian cashman's courage to face down fredo steinbrenner and the ny media.

i like tavares,he is very important to have in the bullpen because nobody knows for sure if today is the day that he snaps his carrot and sends a few guys to the IC unit with head injuries and broken hands. wake is too valuable for the pen as shown last evening he can still be very effective and as shown thruout his career he can eat 175-200innings for you with an under 5.00 era. bringing this guy out of the bullpen is a recipe for disaster unless you have a multiple run lead..he had some good #s as a closer but you just invite anxiety with a knuckleballer coming into the game with a 1 run lead. schill and colon? schill wont be seen pitching till august minimum colon may be ready soon however colon may never see the major leagues again,i dont know what kind of shape he is in and when he did have success in pawtucket he overthrew and found himself in the trainers room for the past month. becks dice wake lester and buckholz with the 2-3-4-5 guys switchable dice k throws 110 pitches thru 5 far too often,i understand they're hitting .160 against him but he's setting himself up for failure by refusing to throw his fastball more often. ya hes 5*0 with a great era....and thats the bottom line i guess consider this. what were matt clements #s in 2005 when he made the allstar team for us?? you cant walk 8 men in 5 innings and expect success and this is essentailly how hideo nomo pitched himself out of baseball.

apologies to the german folk on board here as most of you know i am an equel oppurtunity xenophobic bigot. watching joba pitch last night was exciting when he walked gomes to pitch to garko i thought cleveland had a pop to tie the game. when they brought in delucci i was pissed till he hit the traditional bronx homerun and then the yanks faded into the night. ny is 0-19 when trailing after 8 but have indeed been playing well as of late. -

good to see the american nazi's represented here. sonny Sie brauchen eine ausbildung gemeinsam takt motherf***er if we come face to face you'll be eating my schmekel balls deep with all the zest and vigor you're cock swilling brethren have come to shown in the field of championship cocksucking tournaments.... dont ban him find him -
the celtics can go to garnett in crunch time but someone else best step the f*** up or they're gone in 6 in this round. having followed paul pierce during his ncaa days in kansas and his entire nba career in boston i can confidently say he eats it when it matters most. so did john elway for years so did peyton manning so did jim plunkett memo to paul pierce, no one is looking to bust a cap in your ass, especially the bloods or crips. mind your f***ing manners and play basketball an early exit this year compounded with another f***ed up playoff series personally after giving you the keys to the proverbial testerosa will make a lot of people with high hopes disappointed. jesus christ 76 f***ing points at home?
-
another reason to despise the nba. between pierce, allen and king james you have close to 60,000,000.00 or better in salary. lebron told his story last year when he appeared at the jake wearing a yankee hat in the alds. something fundamentally wrong with the home boy wearing a yankee hat while his home baseball team is playing for their lives...if you notice, most people who cheer for teams outside their home town because they win are insecure deep down inside...
-
i saw the best player in the game play last night and it wasnt kobe bryant. whether paul can do this 10 more years is another story but this spring chris paul is just unreal

as i said if you read the police blotter you'd note that most kids that were arrested werent boston natives,in fact id venture to say less than 10% were boston natives. just spoiled college kids, many from ny,who dont know how to handle alcohol and think that throwing a brick thru a window impresses chicks. having the pleasure of working in the fenway district for years i have found the 18-24 age group that doesnt work for a living while driving audi's and having an allowance given to them, to be a pain in the ass, regardless of where they come from. the rage built up inside of them is a simple inability to handle alcohol and interact with the opposite sex due to awkwardness and less to do with ny/boston baseball.

are you suggesting that a sox based chatroom who's topic is the murder of a defenseless sox fan by a skank yankee douchebag via a motorvehicle is getting heated? shocking man shocking. having seen violence in both parks over the past 30 years i think the worm has turned. boston fans being on the business end of 86 years of misery have been redeemed and now the 1918 chants are only heard in the bronx rarely but from time to time... sox fans can laugh and roll with the ******** trash talking now that we've put a couple titles in our pocket.. meanwhile ny is now associated with the biggest gag job since deep throat and have gone 0-for the century while falling in the playoffs to lesser teams year in and year out despite spending over 1,000,000,000.00 in that time frame.. arod and his october failures are the things that baseball fans associate with ny these days. world series sweeps and the best 3/4 hitters in 75 years are what people see when they look at the redsox. its a new day in the universe and for some people who think that joe pepitone was awesome,a difficult time in their lives.
-
he was the man who predicted a 30 win season for johnson,25 for pavano and 18 for jarret wright circa 2005. i forgive everyone i forget little how is the lovely jamie these days?

i think the pressure on hughes and kennedy has been expanded due to the trade rumors with santana and the fact that the sox youngsters have stepped up while fredo steinbrenner does the lithium shuffle wondering why joba chamberlain cant bat cleanup while starting every other game. the yanks have hit stride about the same time offensively as we have but over the long haul our staff is deeper and more consistant and should hold out. hughes broke a rib but nobody knows how? its murder to cough with a broken rib but to pitch it must be brutality. maybe he needs geritol or perhaps some type of female osteo supplement for his brittleness, didnt he spend some time on the dl last year for a bone break of somekind in his leg?? anyway as far as cant miss goes its just not in stone the boy may have the most talent of any young arm in the game but the blossoming of young pitchers is a delicate road to travel and the bronx a hard place to find sympathy if the guy you were to be dealt for is pitching well in queens... he may be in oakland in august if he doesnt perform the idea of the ny media and the steinbrenners being patient with phil hughes is pure fantasy the average ny baseball fan has the attention span of pocket lint and after 13 years of making the playoffs they may not be able to handle finishing out of the running as phil hughes learns the ropes while taking the lumps that go with it...

drew is a good enuff hitter to use that wall like most good lefty hitters end up doing. why he hasnt taken that approach? the right field power alleys in fenway are vast, the left field wall should be his target, especially against the soft servers.

lets get something straight the only person who died the night the sox lost was a coed who got shot in the face from point blank range....by a cop... the boston riot squad led by Kathleen O'Toole, got her training from the Royal Ulster Constables, famous for their delicate touch in dealing with catholics in belfast.. a f***ing beanbag killed that girl, hit her in the face as she sat on a mailbox minding her business during a celebration.... the only casualty that evening was commited by the boston police. pay attention to the police reports.. generally when someone gets stomped assaulted or arrested in the high rent districts between 11-3am its a ny kid who has had too much to drink and no idea when to shut the f*** up...further,if it werent for so many desperate ny coeds there are a ton of zit faced kids from somerville who would never get laid.... something about those b/u-long island hose bags thats just wrong no matter how much you wash and scrub and comb you cant get that gefilte fish stink out of your mind until you get back in the confessional and apologize to the Lord. that chick will get shanked

a great deal if the pizza didnt taste like ass and armpit with a touch of oregano.

i dunno sir i find this guy to be like one of those track/football wideouts. reminds me an awful lot of willie gault and terry glenn, guys who are potential superstars who just cant get over the hump of playing thru pain as opposed to playing thru injury. i feel his entire career has been one of selfishness and lack of character from the time he spurned the phillies to opting out of his dodger contract. how do you feel about possible collusion in the dice k and jd drew contracts? it behooves me how the sox would pay this guy more than david ortiz and josh beckett unless they had something else in the fire like getting the best free agent pitcher on the market last year in matsusaka for essentially short money(9-10M per?)...
-
with jd drew's oft injured??? it doesnt make sense to dump him for salary reasons but the guys who have come up like moss have performed well. jd drew has played 163 games as a red sox player and is hitting 270 over that span with no power to speak of. that is putrid considering hes hitting behind the best 3/4 combo in 75 years and arguably the teams mvp last year in mike lowell. the idea that people arent giving jd drew a chance to blossom is f***ing nonsense as this guy is making 14M per and has been around long enuff to know whats expected of him. who does he think he is missing games with ass aches and ******** strains while sharing the same locker room as curt schilling and jon lester?

god i love kei""dear brother numpsie has forgiven me""igawa.

a team that wins by an average of 25 points at home and then loses 3 road games against a s*** club like atlanta will have a hard time beating the cavaliers in a 7 game set. why do they allow 100+ on the road while stifling them defensively at home? they seem to have lost a bit of swagger and confidence in rondo as he was on the pine friday night in crunch time as sam cassell got the ball instead. i dont like the confusion and panic doc rivers kevin garnett and paul pierce have never won s*** in their entire careers pierce played on 1 of the most talented basketball teams in ncaa history as his 96 jayhawks had 8 pros on that roster they didnt make the final 4 1x in his 4 years. rivers as a player had to go thru boston detroit chicago and other clubs that were better as a coach he had oppurtunity in orlando and failed there garnett played on a decent wolves team that had a chance to do some good things. they really failed 7 straight 1st round exits and 1 trip to the conference finals is his resume in minneappolis. that s*** dont fly here,we dont politely clap when getting eliminated by lesser teams. anything less than a trip to the finals will be considered a disappointment after winning 66 games during the season.

i am going to get booted so i'll have to get back to ya on this partner
-
wade boggs is possibly the best hitter i have ever seen. jim rice was certainly more feared and for 10 years the most dangerous hitter in the game but boggs was flat out a better hitter
-
neon glasses? they look more like the glasses i seen the chic wear in ""ALL AMERICAN BUKKAKE"" look for the phading phil hughes to be wearing possibly an oakland uniform before too long..
