  1. roger clemens? as long as it dont matter raja is the man you want out there the minute it matters?? warm up the bullpen becuase you can count on something like the trick hammy the trick groin the inflammed shoulder or the fragile psyche to break down in a perfect world nobody steps up and signs him this summer but judging by nys current pitching woes if randy johnson gets 16,000,000.00 then raja is worth 50,000,000.00.....opening bids are at 5M per month
  2. y'all seem to think theres a big calling for 40 year old 1st basemen choi has a swing like the guy from pawtucket who hit 35 hrs there last year remember him?? me neither remember rick lancelotti and izzy ""Kung fu fightin"" alcantara?? i do they swung like choi...... in the major leagues snow is a better fielder and hitter than our little yellow friend who got cut by the dodgers
  3. between him and arod in the late innings you have a gigantic hole and now with ""the giambino"" hitting .240 this month, matsui gone for the year and sheffield out with his and posada has been out since the home plate collision i dunno why sheffs out...do you?? i can only assume he got my mail telling him how much more arod matsui damon and jeter make than he does and how torre doesnt respect him and how steinbrenner set up doc gooden......and how he should tank it to show the league how important he is to them
  4. it sucks knowing we put up the white flag every 5 days with this stiff out there
  5. nice 0-3 with 7 lobs for the 25,000,000.00 man last nite against a lefty who couldnt break a pane of glass..... what a stiff
  6. Come on. Roger Clemens with all those Cy Young awards and whatnot. And the 20-strikeout games? Only one other guy in the history of the game has ever done it even once. There is no comparison and nothing to debate i will never be a roger guy as ive seen him fold under pressure too many times to put him on top if i needed someone to hold a 6 run lead in the 1st inning in may i suppose he'd be the man... whats his record against petey in the big games? whats his record against dave stewart for that matter... fergie jenkins won 20games 7out of 8 years for a sucky cubs team and threw well over 300 innings 5 out 6 years... 267 complete games he pitched clem has pitched 118,4 in the last 6 years its not really an indictment against clemens as it is a reminder that men can throw 300 innings and 25 complete games if you give them the chance fergie pitched 18 years some of the 60s pitchers have some gaudy ass #s
  7. mj is makin friends and influencing people again i see dont ban him hes much more entertaning when hes cracking up over the yanks failures. tommy glavine is a huge favorite tonite and the over/under is 9?? considering the mets starter is 40 and cant break a pane of glass, the yanks starter is a career minor leaguer with an era around 20 and both teams bullpens, including both closers are shelved?? i think it should be a high scoring affair mets win but arod and jetsey have good games
  8. if i needed 1 win id take pedro ryan was very beatable seaver was tremendous for 10-12 years and clemens has been a horse for 20 years but none were like petey when he was on no one mentioned bob gibson?
  9. billy wagner is a fraud who throws 100 a rich mans kyle farnsworth walk 3 hit 1 after that tremendous team effort?? delgado and floyd should ass rape him in the shower
  10. i too hurt on the inside watching rj last nite was like watching willie mays in 73 like watching ali--holmes in 80 jeromy gonzales?? here jeromy go beat randy johnson.....and they do anyways mo has 3losses already, hes gone entire seasons without 3 losses he aint getting any younger either petey mussina today epic
  11. ramiro mendoza? he broke into baseball with tiant fidel castro tony oliva and tony perez the only game he pitched well in over the last 3 years was a saturday afternoon game against the yanks and i think ny left 11 men on in 5 innings. i thought he got deported because his green card expired small was a career stiff he had his moment in the sun last season and this season hes back to form
  12. pawtucket would win that division how does a complete stiff like brett tomko come to dominate that league? honestly i think san diego is the best team in that division but theyre always 1 or 2 guys away from getting over the hump i think jake peavy is the best pitcher in that division not named schmidt we dont see too much baseball from that area out here but from what ive witnessed id say that they have a leg up...
  13. rickys gone and anither year off will end effectively end his career ronnie brown is a good back but i dont know if he can carry the ball 300xs as hes always had another stud in the backfield with him. miami just signed joey harrington....why does matt millen still have a job in detroit?? anyways if vick even makes the team he will be used like a cordell stewart type slot reciever, run him some reverses...isolate him on a safety.... give him 10 touches a game in the open field and he'll break 1 of them the guys a great athlete but hes never really impressed me as a qb nor has his brother for that matter.... they are exciting to watch for sure
  14. roger moret? of the venezuelan morets?? the 19 year old southpaw who could throw the ball threw a brick wall from 100 yards out but was mentally retarded and now has been completely catatonic since he pulled his car over on the south east expressway over 30 years ago?? him? god he had ""Potential"" too bad they didnt have him live with an adult after they pulled him out of the amazon river basin where they found him....tiant shouldve looked after this kid now the state does i worked in the same building as his former shrink......harvey just shook his head in sadness when i mentioned ole rogelio and now that you mentioned his name i feel the pain too
  15. his fast ball tops out at 92 hes developed a great breaking ball and he still has the change up hes also pitching in the national league which will knock 1-1.5 runs off your era hes more of a complete pitcher than ever before compare his#s from 04 against non al east teams and theyre very similiar to what hes doing now...
  16. wow this team is realing as far as injuries go y'all bust on torre as we do too but last year,in my opinion, was his best year as a manager this year?? can it get any worse for him?? what next? the teams plane crash? injuries expose weaknesses but sometimes turn them into strengths last year wang wouldve been dealt at the allstar break for some shitbag had he not been brought up becuase of wright and pavano being shelved same for the sox i dont think paple shows up last year if foulke and schill were healthy who knows somewhere somebody in that organization can fill a starters role aaron small? he had his 15 minutes last summer.......this year? his era is a couple inches lower than my waist size cant wait for petey and mussina...they had some epic duels over the years
  17. too long for that suck bag that was the worst yank lineup ive seen on the field in 15 years
  18. the words dominate and jamie moyer are never used in the same sentence because he doesnt dominate he pitches well when hes in a jam rj used to dominate martinez used to dominate etc.... wang has pitched well this year, dominating maybe a stretch but pitching well he has done
  19. god forbid ortiz has to play the field every day
  20. i wont get too emotional over the backup 1st baseman whether it be snow or choi or ortiz for that matter but i'd prefer snows stick in the lineup over alex cora and i prefer his glove over youks again i dont really give a fiddlers f***
  21. texas mustve been tired after the night befores track meet
  22. it certainly was a no brainer for the reds
  23. i can rattle off these names like they played last nite i'll start easy as the 1st 6 inches is usually consenual a battery of JOHN ""THE CANDY MAN"" CANDELARIA AND JAMIE FUKIN QUIRK hows lee guetterman doin these days?
  24. point taken and understood i dont want to see him out there in september hitting .240 with 15 errors and 166ks in 400abs thats my nightmare but as you alluded to above, hes done a pretty damn good job given the chance so who do you sit? the vet nixon who hits .300 and plays a solid rf? crisp.who's contract they just extended ? manny?? 3 outfielders and our dh job is taken....he did play some 3rd early in his career?? COME ON MJ play nice for chrissakes or we'll have to revisit the yankee staff from 1989
  25. he lost a ball last nite late that almost cost us a run hes bad in the field, not very good,a complete liability in right field, shaky at best in center he was drafted at 17 because he could hit the ball 500 feet he wont get 500abs here when crisp comes back when that occurs he'll be used to spell nixon against lefties, crisp or manny on turf games or in the back end of a double header, next year when nixon leaves he'll be counted on every day... saying he wont shatter the strikeout record is wishful thinking unless he develops patience hes a career .250 hitter with an obp of .310... 116ks in 310ab last year..... thats almost impossible to digest this in the national league central in hitters ballparks where stiffs like chris carpenter win cy youngs.... dont get me wrong here, hes done fine by me so far hes stepped up and done a good job in crisps absence better than i expected when coco returns you'll find wily at the end of the bench, sitting with jt snow dustin mohr alex cora and the hitting coach and im not sure thats best for his development are you?? theres a reason hes never had 340abs and played over 110games while playing for a last place team the reason is hes got no plate discipline and he cant field for s*** hes been in the pros since 02 thats 4 solid years of development he missed sitting on a bench in cincinatti and i dont want us to make the same mistake because its obvious to me and anyone who watches him that hes got the skills but needs direction.
