  1. we celebrate his eighthinning homer to beat the Royals earlier this month with tabloid headlines about clutchness even though, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, it was only the second time in Jeter's career that he had any kind of hit after the eighth inning to drive in the tying and winning runs. twice in his career my apologies i said once that kc team is fascinating
  2. have you seen dereks #s after the 8th inning with the game on the line?? shall we revisit that article that had him at...what was it?? 1-68 with risp behind or tied in the 8th inning or later?? c h o k e or clutch? hows your math i can find the article in about 2 seconds if you need a reminder
  3. anyone notice who made the last outs in nys sat and sunday games?? anyone else see papi go yard to end texas?? why anyone who follows this sport who would put arod jetsey and ortiz in the same company of ""clutchness"" must walk around with a dog a cane and ear plugs and get their information via michael""the ballwashing queen""kay
  4. agreed senor brasi he needs to throw 150 more innings in the i/league and if his #s are decent he'll have a pop next year to make the club
  5. 3 starts against the best O's in baseball not named boston he kept us in the 1st 2 games,i dont care about the #s,he gave us a chance to win the 1st 2 yesterday, against jon jon wasdin of all fukin people,he couldnt get it done he isnt the answer but to dismiss him as 100% ineffective isnt proper either
  6. is this the same kid who gave up 1 into the 7th inning in nyc last week as josh beckett and wakefield got killed and schill gave up 3 bombs??
  7. hitting .280?? 30 points below minimum wage kevin youkillis 45 behind mike lowell at least you can count on arod when it matters..... as soriano hits his 23rd and is leading the nats out of the cellar this is all on george steenberger he had to get arod at any expense so the sox wouldnt the yankees succeed when steeny is out of the picture stick michael put them back in the winning business when george was exiled for his felonious behavior and as soon as george got back he began to f*** things up,starting with denny neagle and continuing with pavano and rj... he likes shiny things hes the same guy who gave 12,000,000.00 to hideki irabu the same guy who traded buhner for kenny phelps he knows next to nothing about baseball and what it takes to win
  8. arod has balls like a field mouse captain fantastic is falling back to .300 where he belongs the giambino had a bad may and may be off cycles but it was moose and rj that didnt get it done this weekend and that bullpen?? nobody is hurt in that bullpen they just eat it with the exception of rivera you knew this was coming after andy phillips took a curtain call in the 3rd inning the other night
  9. thank god crespo now i can finally sleep
  10. im 40 a lifelong fan as well i also love the nfl and boxing i dont give a fiddlers f*** what these guys put in their bodies f*** baseball for waking up 40 years too late and f*** the feds for getting involved last i knew 1,000,000 chicanos cross the border into arizona every year rather than being in the d/bax dugout maybe they should sit on the border of mexicali and nogales and do some real police work i respectfully suggest that the FBI should go out and solve a fukin crime rather than waste their time in MLB lockerooms
  11. pedro wouldnt be the same guy in the al he got his clock cleaned in los angeles the other evening his fast ball was topping out at 89 he really labored
  12. based on this i see kevin brown coming back to pitch in october
  13. nice effort by boom boom ponson last nite cinci swept the cards and the last 2 evenings were just beat downs this is my 1st year with the baseball package so i can see every team every day the talent level between the a.l and n.l really comes to light when you watch these guys nite in and out... consider how many games atlanta won since 1991,15 straight divisions, probably 1500 wins and only 1 w/series?? i do like the nl style, more steals, more hit@runs,more strategy for that matter i like it better than the softball games we see here but the nl's issues are pitching depth or lack there of
  14. hammer did you watch the reds game last nite? wasnt that cy carpenter getting beat by.....eric milton?? shutout for that matter the cards suck their pitching sucks the league they play in sucks and without pujols theyre cooked theres a reason the national league hasnt won a world series game since the 03 season when you need a place for that ink let me know... my little cousin does tatoos out here and when you come i'll make sure you get the family discount head to head cinci matches up very very well with st louis and without albert?? st louis isnt even close offensively both teams pitching has a lot to be desired but i wouldnt count out the redlegs just yet http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/headToHeadTeamResults?statsId1=17&statsId2=24&gameId=260606124
  15. thank you fred they didnt leave they just keep me in a padded room till october 25th or in that area and let me out to go to work.... its not as bad as i make it sound..... most of the time... i didnt want to lay the big money on ny last nite so i bet them laying 1.5 runs HA serves me right i came out of last nites game with another sick feeling but it was nice to see a kid compete for a job like it mattered and it did and he pitched his balls off anyone remember juan pena? i think he was 2-0 in his career and they both came against ny in a short stretch then his arm went and then he came back and was our best pitcher in that grapefruit season and in his last start he got hit with a soft liner right off that surgically repaired elbow and his career ended that day.....anyways he was the last rookie i saw stick it in nys ass like dave pauley did last evening
  16. oneill is the best center ive seen since akeem no one else is close, not remotley. too bad he didnt always take basketball seriously like ewing did too bad he didnt have a chip on his shoulder like russell did he was the most physically gifted big man ive ever seen but he tended to get fat and disinterested this year, with some assistance from alonzo and the best pg in the league he looks ready to do this again miami in 6 .....if wade dont break
  17. 3. TBY - Evan Longoria, 3B Id go to 3rd base with eva longoria
  18. roy i own 2,both dachschunds....they run the house, theyre germans. hindsight? not on my end clement sucked the entire 2nd half last season, wells was 40lbs overweight and with pending knee surgery we knew he wasnt ready, couple with the fact that he didnt want to pitch here tells me that theo had lenny dinardo penciled in the day arroyo was shipped out. then we had nobody to catch wakefield...did theo really think josh bard could handle the job?.... losing doug, trading arroyo, wells trade request and a skittish clement were the givens based on the givens you cant under any circumstances trade arroyo what was up in the air was schills health and becketts blisters and foulkes knees. thankfully those 3 havent been hurt because if they were?? ha we'd be 10 out and looking up at tampa theo gets respect and a pass because he won the big one but his legacy isnt as good as 1 may think considering the bunny kim for hillebrand deal, trading sanchez for suppan and sauerkraut etc.... he can redeem himself by getting us a solid arm down the stretch...
  19. congrads to red reffing for a nice catalogue of oldies but goodies RED if you dont mind me asking whats your relationship with red ruffing if any??
  20. it's more like a deadlock but those idiots that vote for the terrible award really don't know anything about baseball. if you win more than 20 games you're a lock to be in the cy young hunt, even if your era is 7. i would not be surprised if i saw a 25 game winner with a 5 era before my life is over. the writers are all morons. bob welch comes to mind here Anyone who thinks Arroyo, or the Reds, are going to keep this up for the rest of the season is a jackass. Like I said before I'd be suprised if the Reds finish 3rd in their division, and I'd be completely shocked if Bronson is even in the same state as the conversation about the Cy Young award. not so sure houston has responded to the clemens signing by losing 4 in a row (atta boy raja, way to inspire) the cards are now without albert in a can and remember, karen""rainy days and mondays get me down"" carpenter won a cy last season and he was cut by toronto arroyo got a rubber arm,is absolutley fearless out there and he pitches against the worst league in baseball cinci winning that division would suprise me but lets face it the cards suck as usual milwaukee chicago and houston are frauds too.... its the national league or the B league if you will arroyo going 22-5 with an era of 2.50 is very possible and dont look now but here comes derek lowe too...
  21. sbf i saw arroyo on back to back starts beat ny in may 04 against kevin brown who was at the time 5-0 and their savior... i dont think he figured into the decision in the 1st game but he went 7 the 2nd game went 12-14 innings and he left with the lead after 7.....2-1 he shut them down in game 6 and made arod look like a moron than in itself makes him a legend who doesnt have arod wearing a purse and a womens hat on as he slaps at the ball for a screen saver?? anyways my only point is this if youre serious about winning it all( i thought we were) you dont trade a 15 game winner with 200innings a year as a given. a guy with no ego who loved playing here for wily f pena. ya im beating a dead horse, ive got nothing else to beat. my dick is torn to shreds and my kids and wife left town shortly after beckett beaned that guy in toronto up 4 runs in the 8th inning life aint been the same since.... now our pitching looks worse than ny's i penciled in schill for 20 beckett close to it,wake and arroyo 15 a yo and clement 13-8 as it stands now schill is there beckett was on his way till the above catastrophe occured wake got off to a suck start and has no run support and clement may lose 20 i hate being desperate in early june but it is what it is
  22. their bullpen now has been worked so hard so long they'll need middle help as well as a couple starters small is officially toast
  23. just goes to show you who the real mvp of that team and probably in baseball over the last 10 years is whats life like without rivera?? pretty fukin grim i take it. as far as detroit being the best team in baseball?? theyre off to a good start for sure but lets revisit this at the all star break
  24. yeah i stopped watching after jim gray shanghai'd pete rose i wish rose tuned him up that evening anyways now that home field is on the line they have something to play for at least
  25. 34 211 238 128 12 76 122 3 18 0 105.2 1.49 .288 4.93 these are willis's projected #s in florida if the nl is hitting .288 against him?? that 4.93 era will look like a 7 in the american league east wang, for all intents and purposes has been nys #2 all year behind mussina sure the sox croaked him a bit but hes been steady pretty much all year and you know what you got with him ny dont send wang to miami for willis in my opinion the national league is simply inferior i watched mike remlinger pitch for atlanta last nite,we cut him last year bases loaded,0 outs for arizona,1st guy k'd 2nd guy popped up and then sean green comes to the plate remlinger hangs 4 breaking balls in a row,the last 1 green hit into left for a 2run single any of those 4 pitches wouldve been parked in the al christ most high school teams wouldve taken them yard god help me i do love my baseball package but the nl is a little better than AAA in my opinion
