    I dont think Bowdens being unreasonable at all if hes asking for Tabata or Hughes, Johnson is 28, cheap, and is coming off a .950 OPS season.

    im so sure this necessarily ups JD Drews contract. His primary suiters were the Angels (who just got Matthews) and the Cubs (who just got Soriano) and the Red Sox. If we could somehow sign Drew for 4yr deal in the range of 50-56 million you'd have to think that in this market its a steal.

    as for CL im really not sold on Lidge and giving up Wily Mo, the pre 06' Lidge for sure but he really struggled all year and only really had one good month. One guy I might look at getting (no idea if hes available) is Mike Gonzalez, the Pirates would probaly consider moving him if they got a nice deal.

    I really want to add Spier, hes solid, im not sold on him as the CL but as a set-up man hes probaly the best on the market. I also like the idea of using Wake as a bullpen/long relief/6th option. Hes just getting up in age and we cant rely on him for a full season without a ledgeitimate backup. So wether its signing a mulder, eaton, trade for Jennings or whatever to fill the 5th SP role than thats the best move IMO.

    I think signing Aramis Ramirez makes more sense. And then trade Lowell for MR help so we arent giving up a perfectly capable OF in Pena. 1. Crisp CF 2. Youkillis 1B 3. Ortiz DH 4. Manny LF 5. Ramirez 3B 6. Pena RF 7. Varitek C 8. SS? 9. Pedroia 2B so much power in the middle of the lineup there, and then sign a SS or 2B and were golden.
