Were better off without the Schilling that showed up last night. But if theres actually something wrong maybe he can get some rest and come back later in the season and be a decent #3.
FWIW and definetly small sample size. But Coco over the last 7 games:
.476/.522/.810/1.332 , a lot influenced by last night however the previous 6 games before last night he hit .353/.421/.412/.833. Just bringing it up since Coco worked with the hitting coach and reworked and changed his stance in the batters box in the past week. So something to keep an eye on.
Not that its going to happen but Buchholz could be called up today and be a much better pitcher than Schilling is.
EDIT: im not sold on Zambrano either, hes a good pitcher but his struggles this year and high walk rates leave me leary of a massive contract. Though with 20+ mil coming off the books in 2 SPs I think we can afford to potentially make a big splash.
Pretty good list.
Couple questions for you:
1. Why Ellsbury over Buchholz?
2. Chiang is hitting at each stage so far, though why him so high over someone like Jed Lowrie?
3. Manuel Arrambaris so high, why?
4. No Caleb Clay at all on the list?
It was a joke, Id gladly take Cain on this team even in place of Manny considering age and salary.
But Id like to see the article where he stated Cain was on the table for Manny. I remember during the discussions that the Giants were interested and we wanted Cain but I dont see any evidence to support the claim that Cain was even remotely a consideration. I did a search and pretty much every source said Cain was untouchable.
Anyone have a link to that article? I have a hard time believing that if the Sox were indeed shopping Manny that they wouldnt jump at the chance to aquire Cain. Im sure thats who they wanted, but as I recall talks centered around Jonaton Sanchez and Noah Lowry in which case talks went nowhere (Lincecum wasnt being included either). Im almost certain Cain was never on the block and was never in the talks for Manny Ramirez.
Im not really good with earned and unearned runs, but a guy got a basehit, stole 2nd and then the SS committed an error that allowed the run to score. So I think because there wasnt 2 outs its earned
