  1. Yeah, I mean, does he really need any easing in? I figured that's what last year was for.
  2. That actually brings up a good point about keeping Manny. If we dealt him, then couldn't pitchers just pitch around Papi all the time? I mean, we have Lowell and Tek, but they're not Manny.
  3. Does anybody here watch the Giants? I have to admit, I'd like them a lot more if Barry Bonds wasn't playing.
  4. He's doing the coin toss at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
  5. I agree. That wouldn't be a very practical trade. I mean, who wouldn't love it if Cabrera came back, but it's not enough to replace Manny.
  6. So basically, you replace Youk with Hee Seop Choi? Looking at Choi's offensive numbers, I'd rather take my chances with Youk.
  7. Stats certainly have their value, but you can't rule out feelings. Wakefield's numbers weren't amazing last year, but we all know how great he really is. Nomar's 2005 stats say he blowed, but he had a fantastic end to the season once he returned from injury.
  8. We shouldn't deal off any more guys from 2004. He has one year left on his contract, so just let him finish it here. I would be PISSED if they traded him.
  9. I think the Jays are way overrated, but then the Yankees and the Sox have a lot of issues too. I'll say the final standings will be 1. Red Sox, 2. Blue Jays, 3. Yankees, 4. Devil Rays, 5. Orioles. The Devil Rays I only put in fourth because I think Baltimore will blow completly. Their time was last year, and they f***ed it up, so I say they go in decline now.
  10. The Sox are going to wait until ST and then talk to Wells to see what he thinks.
  11. Would trading Vidro fix the Soriano problem for the Nats? I know that was one of their problems.
  12. Well, it's his opinion, so he can say whatever he wants. I hope like hell it never happens.
  13. I'm not sure how much they're paying him. Does anyone else know? All I know is that they signed him to a one-year deal a few weeks ago.
  14. Who do you guys think is making it to the FA Cup? I think Arsenal got knocked out, right? And I've read Wigan is putting on a good showing.
  15. Yeah, he signed with the Cubs.
  16. So, wait, would Nady and Nixon platoon RF?
  17. Isn't it Willie Harris?
  18. Yeah, there's nothing saying we won't have another Matt Mantei in our bullpen this year who'll be out for the year, so the more quality setup guys the better.
  19. Woah! Johnny's, uh, really liking his new team it appears.
  20. If Pettitte went to either Yankees or the Red Sox, would he really do as well? It seems as if everytime someone moves to the NL, they get better, and when they move to the AL, they get worse. Look at Johnson, Pedro, and Clemens. With Pettitte's age plus the hitters in the AL, I wouldn't be surprised if he struggled in Boston or New York.
  21. He should do at least a decent job. And anything to improve the bullpen over last season will work. Now, who are the setup guys now? Timlin and Taverez? Is Riske middle relief?
  22. But do we really need any more utility infielders? Or outfielders for that matter?
  23. It'll be good to have one more guy from the 2004 team.
  24. Yeah, we're probably all set there then.
  25. So what do you do with Flaherty and Bard if we get Mirabelli? Send one or both of them along with Wells?
