Yeah, probably a longshot, but the numbers aren't horrible. If he works his ass off during spring training, he might make the team. But even if he doesn't, he could be an asset in the minors too.
This is true, but Arroyo has never proven he could become an ace. I think the best he'll ever be is a number 4 or 5 starter. Clement was the ace of the staff for a major part of 2005 while Schilling and Wells were injured. I think the only reason things went downhill at the end was because the Tampa Bay game when he got beaned. If the team gives him another year or two to prove he really is a good pitcher, I take him over Arroyo. I like Arroyo, and I'm glad we resigned him, but the rotation would be stronger with Clement. Arroyo should be a spot starter.
I was reading the Manchester United magazine the other day, and there was one article about how the players decided one day to try playing other sports for fun. There were pictures of Wayne Rooney with a baseball bat trying to hit baseballs. It was pretty cool.
That would be pretty cool, though, if this got big, and in a few years, teams like England, France, and other European teams started playing. Imagine the Irish national baseball team!
At first I was annoyed that A-Rod decided to go to the Dominican team over the U.S, but then I realized a jackass like him would make it tougher for me to root for them.
Loretta said himself in an interview, that he can go in several different places, like the number 2 spot, or down in the 6 or 7 spot, but not the leadoff spot. I don't think he would work there.
They're gonna change the entire look of their organization and still lose friggin' 100 games. Why exactly are they doing this? So that they'll get more fans? Winning will probably do a better job of that.
You know, all the talk by critics has been about Manny and Damon this offseason, but hardly anybody's said anything about the improvements the team has made in the bullpen. Providing they all stay healthy, the addition of Tavarez only makes the bullpen better.
Why do teams get different draft picks if other teams sign their free agents? Like Johnny Damon. It looks like we have New York's draft pick because they signed our guy. Why is this?
