  1. Michelle Damon's pretty good looking. I feel bad for her, now that she's a widow.
  2. I'd like to see Millar return to form after last season. Just as long as he doesn't do it against us!
  3. Haha, sorry. What I meant was his average over the next six years would be .255. His total home runs would be 75, and his total RBIs 360.
  4. I'm pretty sure I read that he said he wouldn't report to spring training if the team didn't trade him. But whatever. The point is that Ramirez said he wants to be traded. He's been complaining about it for years, and the FO is ready to get rid of him this time. Yeah, you're not going to get equal value for him because there aren't guys like Guerrero or Pujols on the market. But if you get back Rowand and Rollins, it's not bad. And with a healthy pitching staff, the team will still do well.
  5. Everybody said that report wasn't reliable though because his agent said he still wanted to be traded.
  6. Well, he's been complaining and threatening that he won't come to spring training, and the FO has agreed to seek a trade for him.
  7. Manny wants to leave, and that's the best deal out there. Unless Ramirez decides he wants to stay, then none of this even matters.
  8. Yeah, but Reed's only had one big season in the majors, last year, so his numbers aren't going to compare to Crisp's. But just looking at Reed's first year, his OBP is pretty high. And fans in Seattle think he really is going to get much better. I mean, I can see the argument for Crisp, and after looking at the stats, he is pretty good. But I think Reed has more potential.
  9. But if we have a mostly healthy pitching staff of Schilling, Beckett, Clement, Wakefield, and Papelbon, and a mostly healthy bullpen with Mota, Timlin, Seanez, Taveras, and Foulke, couldn't they afford a slight decrease in hitting? Rowand's no Manny, but he isn't a Bellhorn either. And Rollins? He's just sick. He seems like he'd be the Millar-type player in the clubhouse.
  10. Giving up a good reliever and an awesome prospect for CoCo Crisp? Aaaahhh! I'd rather have Reed, and even then I wouldn't want to give up both Mota and Marte.
  11. Is Marte guaranteed to be in the majors this year even?
  12. Why would we put Marte in the outfield if we have Adam Stern? Even though Marte is the better prospect, doesn't Stern have more experience there?
  13. That's awesome. And I'm sure the Yankees and the Mets are at the very bottom of the list.
  14. Yeah, giving Beltran a Manny-type contract after only one stellar season? Just for that, I hope Beltran's averages over the next six years are .255, 75 HR, 360 RBIs.
  15. Rowand's a great outfielder who could play center, so I'd like that pickup. And Rollins is a speedy guy, so we could solve both the leadoff and shortstop holes there. If they dealt Manny for Rowand and Rollins, I wouldn't mind it that much.
  16. Don Mattingly? Shouldn't he be higher than that? Is this his first year on the ballot?
  17. If Foulke and the rest of the bullpen is healthy though, the loss of Mantei probably won't be a big deal.
  18. Man, what does the guy have to do? And this year was his best shot!
  19. Payton didn't like being a backup last year, and once he became a regular in Oakland last year, he took off, so it might be a good idea to take another shot at him. But you're right about Giles. It doesn't seem to make much sense that San Diego would sign him and then trade him right after.
  20. Hey, I just started today. I've been a die-hard Sox fan for quite a while now. It's awesome to see that people discuss the team reasonably and intelligently here, and it's not a forum where people are fighting constanly, like a Myspace.com group.
  21. I really liked what you wrote here. I agree that the Marte pickup certainly makes up for the loss of Hanley Ramirez which disappointed me. However, I still didn't like giving up Renteria. Granted there was nothing saying he would have improved, and I can see the FO's reasoning, but I would've given him a second chance. He was very effective in St. Louis and Atlanta has every belief that he will return to form. Why not give it one more year? Oh well. Let's just hope Marte does well.
  22. CBSSportsLine.com has good stuff.
  23. This is true. They did send Koskie to Milwaukee, though, so that should alleviate the corner infield problem. With Ryan, I bet all the critics will be keeping an eye on him, ready to pounce on Riccardi if he flops. You know what they should do is they should dump Eric Hinske out somewhere, like Colorado or Kansas City. I can't stand him!
  24. That would be so funny. I HATE the Mets!!!!
  25. Yeah, Toronto's gonna be good next year. But first base should be set anyway. Youkilis will finally get a regular job, and J.T. Snow is a fine backup.
