  1. So Burke will be on the bench?!?! That's a crime.:thumbdown
  2. They've got Taveras, Burke, Lane and Wilson. Who goes? (Berkman will play first)
  3. We don't want Abreu. I live in Phillies nation. He gets eaten alive here. He can barely handle the pressure of Philly. Imagine Boston. (shudder) Edit: You've got to be kidding me about Burrell...
  4. They best be startin' Chris Burke. If not, we'll be happy to have him.
  5. I second that.
  6. I understand it's a joke but comparing Schilling with RJ is a lottt different than comparing Lowell and A-Rod.
  7. Nixon before Lowell and Tek????
  8. It is valuable. It puts pressure on the defense especially on ground balls. But if you are a great base stealer with a low OBP, well, you can't steal first base.
  9. Good comparison. Really intelligent buddy. NOBODY SAID THAT
  10. I can just imagine: "Top of the first, folks. Nobody out. Loretta on first, Youkilis at second. Torre is signaling the intentional walk to Ortiz. Manny comes to the plate with the bases loaded and nobody out. Manny swings..."
  11. 1. Youkilis, 2. Loretta. Youkilis because he is "the greek god of walks" and has a ridiculous OBP and Loretta because he's just flat out the best 2-hole hitter in baseball. Along with Marcus Giles.
  12. Youkilis would be a sick leadoff man given his on-base percentage. If we get Taveras I don't want him leading off.
  13. Where is the Sox farm system ranked among the MLB?
  14. Actually, Antonio Pierce is not too shabby. Deshaun Foster is the one who wasn't stopped, and if Pierce wasn't hurt he definitely could've contributed to stopping the run. This is supposed to be about Chicago. As for Smith, it's true he was not stopped, but the Bears have Nathan Vasher, Charles Tillman and Mike Brown to take care of that. I'm not saying they can smother him, but they'll do a better job than the Giants did and even though the offense does suck there's no way they get shut out like the Giants. As I said, a Thomas Jones 5 yard run, a Rex Grossman 1 yard pass and a Nathan Vasher INT return should be more than enough. It sure as hell is going to be a good game though.
  15. 2005 was rehab for Schilling. Schilling will be MUCH improved in 2006, maybe not to his '04 form, but he'll be solid. If you want to kid yourself and believe RJ can stay off the DL in 2006, be my guest. I'm not saying Schilling won't, but he'll be better than RJ. P.S. I'm changing that ? to a >
  16. He isn't that bad. And man he has a sickkkkk drag bunt. (Taveras)
  17. Did the Giants have a single healthy linebacker last week?
  18. Omar Minaya doesn't know what a fire sale is. He'll probably go out and trade David Wright for Barry Bonds.
  19. I put the ? between Schilling and RJ because both of them are tossups right now and both of them will likely be on the DL at one point this season.
  20. You've got to be kidding me if you think Johnson won't decline this year.
  21. Leinart didn't lost the game with class. "We're still a better team"
  22. Adrian Peterson got hurt this year. Another guy to look out for is Brian Calhoun, if he stays.
  23. There's no way White can win a Heisman next year with Adrian Peterson around.
  24. I was outraged at seeing him step on Dumervil's leg. That was absolutely ridiculous.
