  1. Are the Sox talking with the Pirates about Wilson?? They better be.
  2. The Mets bullpen is officially beast. That having been said, maybe they'll finish third this year instead of fourth.
  3. If Zito would re-sign, it would be great.
  4. No offense is good against Chicago. Earlier this year Chicago held Carolina's offense to 3 points. A Thomas Jones 5 yard run, a Rex Grossman 1 yard pass and a Nathan Vasher INT return will be more than enough.
  5. Chicago has the number 2 defense? Show me a team with a better D than Chicago.
  6. Definitely. Reed, to me is hands down the best defensive center fielder in all of baseball. Last year he was a regular on web gems.
  7. Carolina will never beat Chicago.
  8. mlbtraderumors.com reports: "According to an emailer, WSCR 670 The Score in Chicago is reporting that Corey Patterson has been dealt to the Orioles for 20 year-old 2B/SS Nate Spears and 23 year-old southpaw starter Carlos Perez. I'm working to confirm the info." Since Patterson was not dealt to Seattle, does this hurt Boston's chances of landing Jeremy Reed?
  9. Yes, and he's been pitching at Coors for practically his whole career.
  10. Randy Johnson will NOT stay healthy this year. He's a 41 year old beanpole. As for Clement, if the A's are not competing at the trade deadline, maybe the Sox could flip Clement and Shoppach for Zito? It's only a matter of time until Jason Kendall is horrendous. We would also avoid Clement's annual second half meltdown.
  11. I'm still disappointed about missing out on Glaus.
  12. For those who want to know some more, I'm 13 years old and write a weekly column at sheriffsully.com titled Nick's Stuff
  13. Washington has an outstanding offense. Watch Brunell, Portis, Cooley and Moss when they're clicking and you wouldn't think that. The only reason this might be a non-offensive showdown is because of Chicago's defense.
  14. Note: I didn't steal Bears-Pats from Simmons, I saw his column after I picked that Super Bowl. Also, there isn't a chance Carolina beats Chicago next week. Chicago has a tenacious D, and there's no way they don't defend their turf...by the way, Carolina is a warm-weather team and it's going to be 30 degrees in Chicago on game day.
  15. I don't hate all Yankee fans, but I've had some bad expericences...
  16. If the Sox can come out with Reed in center and Lugo at short, I'd be thrilled.
  17. On the Brewers, the addition of Coskie should help because I don't believe J.J. Hardy is worthy of a starting spot at short yet. An infield of Coskie, Hall, Weeks and Fielder should be very dangerous. With Carlos Lee, Brady Clark and Geoff Jenkins in the outfield, the team is going to knock the cover off of the ball.
  18. Super Bowl = Bears vs. Pats
  19. However, Pavano is never healthy. If Clement is not traded and can keep an ERA well under 4, he'd be a great compliment to Schill and Beckett.
  20. I assumed Wells would be traded, but in that case I do agree.
  21. I use mlbtraderumors.com I'm not sure how many of their rumors come true, but man they have some juicy stuff.
  22. Yankee fans keep going on about how the Sox rotation sucks, but it compares with theirs like this (as of now): Schilling > Johnson Beckett > Mussina Wakefield ? Wang Clement > Wright Papelbon > Pavano Arroyo Do you guys agree?
  23. I'm happy to be at a Red Sox forum. I love the Sox and HATE Yankee fans. And their team.
