. The latest report ^
-
I don't think that he has played the OF since he was in the Red Sox minor league system when he was a teenager. I doubt that at age 30 they plop him into a major league OF. I don't know if the Panda thing is still going to happen, but if it does, say goodbye to XB. If they pass on Panda, Hanley will slot nicely into 3B, but IMO he will not be playing OF.
-
Hanley will be playing either SS or 3B IMO. I don't see him going to the OF.
-
It wasn't just a losing season. It was a trainwreck.
-
Or maybe they package up XB to land a starting pitcher?
-
did you read or hear that? He would be thrown into the OF and Castillo gets CF leaving Craig, Victorino, Cespedes and Betts to fight over RF? I' m not seeing that.
-
Lol! Dick.
-
Tickets go on sale in 2 weeks. I think they will make 1 or 2 big moves before the Christmas at Fenway kickoff.
-
If they are seriously looking to get Sandoval and HanRam, they don't have a lot of belief in XBs upside.
-
Lol! He named 5 and you came up with a list of excuses. There are always excuses. Duh. But they are still f*** ups.
-
I can't speak for others, but I am not ignoring Lester's side. On the Red Sox side, IMO you don't give the other party the first offer to shop.
-
Lester going to the Yankees would be a nice kick in the teeth.
-
The Red Sox certainly had it within their power to not give him am offer to shop around. They could have waited until he received some offers. Instead they gave him a starting point to drive up his price.
-
Wow! It is good to be left-handed and be able to throw a baseball.
-
For similar money, I would think he stays on the west coast.
-
I was just poking fun at SFF.
-
Both Francisco and Holt bat left-handed.
-
I think they would like to make a big signing before tickets go on sale in the first week of December.
-
Theo has a hard time letting go when it comes to guys he signed. I have no doubt that Theo wants him, and he has the budget to get him.
-
If they sign Sandova, they should include a paid nutritionist/chef in the contract. It would be worth the investment as this guy has a huge problem keeping his weight at healthy levels.
-
In the end if they get him, we don't care how they got it done, but if they don't get it done, my verdict will be that they screwed the pooch on this going back to last spring training and their ridiculous $70 million offer.

Hey, at times you think I am criticizing the FO when I am not, and I, at times think your defense of roster moves sounds whiny. It is a shortcoming of internet communication.
-
I was criticizing/disagreeing with the reporter's characterization of the offer. I still don't think the reported offer is agressive, and apparently neither do you. My criticism of the FO is that they gave him an offer to shop to all the other teams. I have seen no other report that he got any offer before ours. I think that it is foolish to be the first offer.
-
You won't bitch. You'll just defend it. Edit: I'll be bitching about it. You will attempt a whiny defense.
-
I didn't pick anything. Someone posted it in the string so I commented on it. I also didn't ignore anything. I wasn't aware of the other report so I couldn't have ignored it. BTW, who do you think I was criticizing when I disagreed that the reported offer was aggressive?
