    I am a proponent if micro strategy in games as opposed to placating myself with macro statistical results. You are free to have the other approach.

    Sure it is okay. Defend them all you want. As long as you don't take the criticism of the FO personally. I always find that type of reaction to be odd.

    Ditto, but wow, you set things off now. The FO made plenty of money on the team's success. They don't need adulation too. It's not like they worry about popularity with fans. Unlike players, there is no market for their autographs and memorabilia.

    I read an article where the author researched how hitters do after disastrous seasons like Craig had. In a few rare instances the guy bounced back, but generally they were toast. Bradley probably has a better chance than Craig, because he is still learning. He could find something that will help him.

    I hate k's with a man on 3rd with less than 2 out or a man on 2nd and no one out. Shorten up and put the ball in freakin play. It's part of the strategy of the game for goodness sakes. It drives me crazy, and it does matter, especially in the post steroid age. Scoring is down. There aren't many 40 HR guys like there were before. 25 HR guys who swing for the fences all the time and strike out 140 times annoy me.

    Me too. Craig looked like he had been stuck blind last season. I don't know if hitters recover from a season like that.

    What is the anectdotal evidence? Isn't what you are calling anectodal evidence also rumor/opinion and not fact. Also, based on your postings at TS you have professed a dislike/bias against LL.

    It's just silly to lay it all at Lucchino's doorstep. People are desperate to find a fallguy so they can absolve the rest. The fish rots from the head.

    I like that he speaks out. I find rehearsed Politically Correct answers to be interminably boring. I have no interest in reading or hearing interviews where the player repeats old cliches and essentially says nothing about what they really think. Papi is always authentic.

    I'm away on business, In the middle of the second martini, things become clear. Our staff is a collection of medicrity and "ifs". It is a long shot that this turns out well. That slim chance rests in the narrow shoulders of Buch. Without a big year from him, third place at best.

    Speier makes it sound like the Red Sox made the purchase at some sort of "going out of business" sale.

    I can't disagree with this. I hope that XB improves enough so that the bottom 3 is substantially better than Caditillo, Vasquez, Marrerro.

    We do have Marrerro waiting in the wings at SS. He is a plus fielding SS.

    With the $30 million penalty, the bonus turns out to be $60 million. I don't know if - would call that a steal fo a 19 year old. Even if he is the real deal, that is pretty sizeable.
