    Part of the reason is that we have some terribly slow slugs in the lineup. Papi is really slowed with age. Panda's heart rate accelerates to fainting level as he rounds first base. Napoli is pretty slow too. Nava has below average speed (hard to tell this year because he never gets on base). Hannigan is super slow. Betts is super fast, but everything he hits up a gap gets caught.

    This is astounding considering that it is consistently the #1 park for doubles.

    then he sucks at multi-tasking if he had to address the crucial 25th man issue twice in a week without an intervening injury. Get your act together Ben. Stop rearranging the deck chairs. You are headed for a mother of an iceberg.

    no one is hyperventilating about the 25th roster spot except Ben who has addressed the issue twice in the last week. The point is that he has bigger fish to fry.

    It is a terribly constructed team. Terrible pitching and fielding will sink you every time. Add an under performing offense and things get really ugly. We are watching it play out.

    That is not plus fielding. The big culprits are he 2 free agents. I know that Pedroia's errors are up, but some of those errors were questionable calls. One was clearly XB's error, not Pedey's. I'll take Pedey on my defensive squad every time. XB has made a huge improvement. Panda has been bad. Napoli bad too. Hanley is a train wreck.

    The achilles heel of the team will be the pitching. I'd hate to see the figures just on the 5 guys that started off the year in the rotation. The offense has talent and will get better. The pitching needs talent and they will have to get some from outside the organization.

    OBP is is middle of the pack but runs is putrid. As some would say the run production is an anomaly with a middle of the pack OBP. And I would have to agree that the run ranking would come up. If the offense is over rated/under performing, it will still be, at worst, a middle of the pack offense.

    THe problem is that he is getting fatter. He couldn't score the other day from first base on a 2 out double in the RF corner. He looked like he needed oxygen when he got to third base.

    Fred and i disagree on many issues about the RedSox. I step in on his behalf, because it is always a feeding frenzy on him. There is always piling on, and that is why i step in. I find some of his outrageous rants to be very comical. He gets worked up and he lives and dies with every game. We get it that there is a lot of hate for him on this board. The rest of us get it, and y'all are becoming huge bores when you constantly remind us about it.

    I find that people who hate Fox never watch it. My daughter, a Chemical Engineer and not a politically inclined person said to me once that Fox is extreme. When I asked her if she watches Fox, her answer was that she never watches it. Lol! There was not a hint of irony in her statement.

    BBC? Seriously? Americans give additional credibility to anyone with an English accent. Don't let the sophisticated accents fool you. The "C" in BBC should stand for communist. Their news has a complete hate America slant. PBS? More liberal slant. MSNBC is psychotically liberal and hate filled.
