  1. i hope that the guy who took his place knows pitching, because Shipley didn't do much there.
  2. We have given up quites a few XBHs tonight.
  3. Pal, you need to replace the "In Ben we trust" signature. It's a little embarrassing as he leads us to a third last place finish. The sig is like having a "Nixon is the One" bumper sticker. Why advertise choosing failure.
  4. If we lose tonight's game, it will be the 5 th time we will have lost a game in which we scored 7 or more runs. That will be the most in the major leagues. There was a theory that if we had hit a little bit better in May that we would be in first place. Blow up that one.
  5. There was zero effort put into building the pen. He stayed with Uehara, Taz and Breslow and add Ogando and a couple of buckets. Gee that must have taken up a full couple of hours of his winter. I put more effort into my Fantasy teams.
  6. It's the pitching, stupid! Ben how could you have liked this pitching staff. They stink stink stink.
  7. We take the lead again and our pitcher gives up a lead off double. Shut down innings are something that our pitchers cannot get.
  8. Another runner thrown out on the bases stupidly. The slowest runner on the team makes the last out at third base. They play like bush leaguers.
  9. I thought Ortiz hit another homer.
  10. we've seen a pile alright. I' ll wait for the pile of good pitchers before I sing their praises. Has there been a big turnover in our scouting department recently? How long has this crew been in place?
  11. Hasn't Farrell seen enough of this guy tonight?
  12. 2007(Buch) until 2015 and counting is a long drought. That point will lose no validity no matter what happens in the next few months.
  13. And for how many years. His obituary has been written many times since 2010.
  14. Add an ejection for arguing a third strike by Napoli. What a bunch of clowns.
  15. Ortiz is hurting a lot of baseballs recently.
  16. And let's add an amateurish has running play to our horrible pitching and defense.
  17. Kelly is embarrassingly bad.
  18. So it was a pure salary dump where we ate most of the money. Can we give away Cy Kelly?
  19. We get Josh Rutledge in return. I am not sure what we want with him. He had been a very hot prospect with the Rockies a few years ago. He got a couple of shots with them when Tulo was injured. He never panned out. He is 25 years old and he plays SS. We have Xander for SS We have Holt as our super utility guy. I can't see that he will have any role in our organization.
  20. He supposedly isn't going to miss time. He may just be getting a day of rest against a LHP.
  21. The Mets said no. They knew enough to keep him. DeGrom was an example. You are derailing the larger point into a debate about an example. We haven't had a pitcher of any consequence produced by our system since Buch. That is a long time. I really don't care about a bunch of explanations and excuses. We are just not good at drafting and developing pitching. There are many top pitchers that have been drafted after our draft picks. Our record speaks for itself.
  22. There has been an organizational drought with regard to pitching. Plus, aces aren't limited to the first round. DeGrom was a 9 th round pick. We are bad at finding and developing pitchers.
  23. It is a bit early for returns on 2012, but Ball is barely showing tiny baby steps of progress in our system. Let's not make it about 2012 or even about top pitchers. We shouldn't lose focus that this organization has a bad record turning out pitchers period. They don't even turn out mid level or back end rotation types. It is a huge organizational weakness. It has nothing to do with draft position.
  24. We will be finishing last for a third time in 3 years, but there is never a good pitcher available when we get a high draft choice? Trey Ball? Excuses. Our organization just doesn't know anything about pitching.
