    We need one more team to have a league. One of our teams dropped out. Here is a chance to take on and dethrone the King of Fantasy Sports. I would think that would be enough incentive.

    The one thing that wasn't a fact was Farrell's statement that Pablo had lost 20 lbs and looked fit. Yeah, I am sure that Farrell put him on a scale when he saw him. If he thought he lost 20 lbs by looking at him, he needs to get his eyes tested. The whole "Pablo is in better shape" narrative coming out of the FO is deliberate and ridiculous. The whole narrative exploded in their faces with one snapshot of his enormous gut protruding from his workout gear.

    Everything that could have gone wrong in September 2011 went wrong. They had no starting pitching. They needed to add one decent arm and they were in the post season where they could have done well imo. Theo dropped the ball and was panicking the last weekend of the season trying to get Bruce Chen and Chris Capuano.

    It concerns me that Pablo has been so mindlessly neglectful of his career. I really expect very little from him in 2016. It also concerns me that his weight has become a distraction to the FO. The fact that they planted the false story from Farrell that Pablo had lost 20 lbs and now they are circling the wagons about his BMI makes me think that they are upset with him and concerned that they have made a big mistake signing him.

    Hanley didn't lose the weight. He just gave it to Pablo to keep him warm in the Winter.

    Agreed. Last season we had to hope that the ball didn't get hit to LF. In 2016, we may find ourselves worrying about every groundball.

    An infield error is usually one base. His misplays in the OF resulted in players running all over the bases.

    Even a 1/30th share of those hats should be enough to pay David Price.

    Agreed, but I don't think significant improvement is a realistic expectation. He might be marginally better, but no enough to help the team. We'd be better off with Holt playing full time.

    He was starting to decline while he was with the Giants. His hitting against lefties was atrocious and it got worse in his first year with the Red Sox. His fielding was bad last year too, and it seemed to be in part caused by his weight. He obviously did nothing to lose weight and he is another year older. I don't see how we can realistically expect much improvement from him

    I am sure that you heard that stuff while watching games from a few Damon fans, but I don't remember it being a widespread consensus through RSN.

    If that photo of Pablo is not photo shopped, it is very disappointing that he is starting off the season so heavy. If last year is any guide, he will pack on another 30 lbs during the season as his only workout will be tweeting on the toilet between innings.

    I don't remember Coco getting grief over his fielding. His hitting was a disappointment, but he could go get the ball.

    I'll let you know how he looks the week of March 5th to the 12th. It shouldn't take long to figure out whether he has the footwork and the instincts. I am not too worried about his hands as he was a SS.

    And the /150 games figure is the best way to compare him to Manny apples to apples.

    The numbers and the eyes confirm that Hanley was much worse than Manny in the OF. Hanley could have carried Pujols bat last year and he still would have needed to be banned from the OF.

    Gallardo's is a nibbler. There is no disputing that, but his results have been consistent. And he has done it in the NL and inan AL bandbox.
