  1. Watching the Opening Spring Training game on NESN.
  2. I will send a message to the league to ask if 7 pm works on April 2nd.
  3. Is there any time on that date that is good for you?
  4. So, English as a second language is not an excuse. Sometimes things lose meaning or take on erroneous meaning in the translation. If he had been injured last season, I would be more optimistic about his future. Also, he had been declining (at least from the right side) before we got him. Plus, he was never that great. I am more optimistic about Hanley, because he was injured and he is moving back to the IF.
  5. Disagreeing with someone is fine. Kimmi and I and others do it all the time. Telling another poster that he has reading comprehension problems is obnoxious. More than half of his posts are insults directed at other posters and the remainder are just devoid of value.
  6. The draft has been changed to April 2nd. That is not good for you?
  7. Taking your side of an argument is one thing, but being an attack dog and insulting is creepy and obnoxious. He needs to cut it out. The guy is a half wit, and nothing is more irksome than an obnoxious half-wit.
  8. Got it. Great! Thank you and good luck.
  9. He is not "as svelte" as we want him to look? He's a fat slob, and he admittedly did no defensive work this off season. He may care how he does, but he didn't work to improve by his own admission.
  10. You are in no position to judge what is in someone else's heart. He is the object of scorn and ridicule, but not hate. And btw, clubhouse ribbing is not always good-natured.
  11. If he gets fat-shamed, he ate himself into that predicament.
  12. LOL!! I think he had pizza doughnuts and doughnut pizza -- probably a few cheeseburgers between a couple of glazed doughnuts too.
  13. I don't think it is hatred. That is your interpretation. I do think that there is a lot of resentment, because he was extremely overweight and underperforming last season, and he has given no effort to address the weight issue. It looks like he is not giving full effort. Fans resent that. If he were my neighbor, I am sure that we would get along famously. I'll bet he has the best BBQs in his neighborhood. So, I don't think anyone hates him. Is he being fat-shamed? Yuh, and I wouldn't be surprised if his team mates tease him about his weight too. Do you think they hate him.
  14. There is nothing between 89 and 90 wins.
  15. And others just decline. Pablo was not injured. He has just been in decline. He admits that he put in no fielding work in the off season, so why would we expect improvement in that aspect of his game?
  16. Pablo was so worried about the pressure of a bad start in 2016 that he sought solace in comfort food. He doesn't give a damn what the media or the press think of him. Last year he was stinking up the place and his response was to tweet from the toilet in between innings instead of studying video. Let's all cry for the $95 million ball of powered dough who will be criticized on Talk radio and some message boards. He probably doesn't follow either form of media, so the criticism is like a tree falling in the forest with no one around.
  17. In the words of Teddy Ballgame, "Teddy Ballgame doesn't have bad seasons."
  18. I don't know what kind of hitter Vasquez will become or how our scouts are projecting him as a hitter, but I was impressed that right out of the box he was not overwhelmed by big league pitching and he put the ball in play at a very high rate and much of it was good contact. I like young hitters that don't strike out a lot. To me it shows that they are not playing out of their class. Whether that ability to put the ball in play translates to good offensive production remains to be seen. These are my recollections of a small sample size that are more than a year old. It is possible that the stats say something else.
  19. I agree. They view him as the face of the franchise. As Branch Rickey used to say, it is better to trade a player 1 year too early than 1 year too late.
  20. I think Pedroia is going to have a big bounce back season. His hands and wrists will finally be fully healthy. He recovered his power last year. He needs to make sure that his legs stay healthy and play a full season, and he will have a big season, imo. If we are out of the playoff hunt at the Trading Deadline, they could capitalize on his rebuilt value. Trading him in the next off season should also be considered.
  21. 85-89, but breakout seasons from ER, Betts and Bogaerts could move the needle into the 90's.
  22. I will resend the invitation. We are currently at 7.
  23. That is a great idea. I sent out an additional invitation.
