  1. I would be on-board with getting Sale. Price and Sale at the top of the rotation would be better than when we had Pedro and Schill.
  2. Wasn't your broken back caused a defective door? I hope that you got some insurance money for that. My recollection is that it was an extremely dangerous condition on that property.
  3. Start measuring him for a Gold Glove.
  4. I have had all the surprises that I can stand in the last 2 seasons when the last GM told us that he liked our pitching. i just want some competitive baseball through the end of August. The 2016 staff will be better than last season, but I don't get the point of adding Price at $217 million to have a mediocre staff.
  5. We need another starter. Our depth is just not that good.
  6. Oh goodie goodie!! We will get the pleasure of being tortured by again watching a knuckleballer take the hill every 5th day.
  7. Have you tried Two Meatballs in the Kitchen near the JetBlue Park. Last year, they scaled back the menu, but it was still very good.
  8. If you want to do some fine dining, it is worth the trip into Naples. Fifth Ave is full of great restaurants. Also in the Mercato shopping center in Naples there are a lot of great place to eat.
  9. Are you staying in Fort Myers or Fort Myers Beach? I stay on the beach, but in March, the traffic on that island is a beach. We have learned to stay on the southern tip of the island to avoid the really bad traffic.
  10. And the Mets manager gave away 2 games.
  11. How long have you been there? If I had known you were there, I would have arranged to stop by and say hello. I agree about Pablo. He has looked awful in the field. The balls that he has fielded cleanly he has thrown poorly. Did you see Travis's 2 HRs today. This guy's bat will work its way to the bigs very soon. IMO, Pablo is not needed on this team. He is holding back better players. DD needs to cut bait with him.
  12. He is not going to win a gold Glove, and he will not make the highlight reel for his fielding, but he will hurt us less at 1B than LF.
  13. I am just surprised that players still read the sports pages. What could a writer tell them that they don't already know about. Most players are smart enough to let it roll of their back. Pablo is being overly sensitive. I don't know of anything very critical written about his fielding recently.
  14. The reporter should have told him to stop making errors and then he will not have to report them.
  15. There were a number of reports that he was swinging unimpeded. There was even a report that it was not hurting his throwing. We waited and waited. Then there were reports that he would not play 1B until he was completely comfortable at 1B. We waited some more. We read that he was working at 1B and that we would see him there sometime in September. We waited. Then he got sent home and the shoulder was the reason.
  16. All that Panda gear and memorabilia?
  17. True. But I think there was ample opportunity to get another pitcher if DD wanted one. A lot of pitchers changed laundry in the off season. I would have favored getting Shields for Sandoval in a swap of big contracts.
  18. I can still remember the 1976 team that was loaded with great hitters. That team blew an incredible number of games from the 7th inning on. Back then the closer often went 2-3 innings. We tried to buy Rollie Fingers, who would have made all the difference in the world for that team.
  19. It was a glaring need. I was certain that e would add 2 pitchers to rebuild the staff.
  20. As someone who carries the scars of blown games and seasons when the Red Sox had no competent closer, I have a greater appreciation for a big stud that can lock down games consistently. Not having one has caused me too many grey hairs and bellyaches.
  21. It does not. It is best to play as few players as possible out of position. It wouldn't make sense to play 2 players out of position when switching them would result in only 1 player playing out of position (Hanley at 3rd), and Hanley would probably be a more natural fit at 3rd than at 1st.
  22. This sucks
  23. Uehara had one of the best seasons of all time by a closer in 2013. I can only think of a few relievers that had seasons that were close to his 2013. Counting 2013 in any 3 year span would make it hard for anyone to compete over that period.
  24. Yep, the writing is on the wall. I suspect that the Moran story got out there so prominently, because ownership made no attempt to put a lid on it.
  25. He made a pick on a throw in the dirt yesterday.
