  1. He is allowed to swing at the baseball. Kulpa is just a prick who has been grinding an ax with the Red Sox for years.
  2. That interference call on Ortiz is weak. He didn't go out of the batter's box, nor did he intentionally interfere with the catcher. I don't get it.
  3. Buch with a very nice outing. He had good stuff and good command. Let's hope that the parade of Pigs from the bullpen doesn't blow the game.
  4. IMO, Pedroia is a catalyst for the Red Sox more so than our other players. And when he gets on one of his white hot streaks, the team goes on a streak.
  5. It is certain to be reported that he is in the best shape of his life.
  6. Let's hope that he can still catch after his ankle heals. Ankle injuries have derailed a few prominent careers -- Bill Buckner was a great outfielder but his ankle turned him into a lame race horse that had to be moved to 1B. Tommy Davis was a great OFer who could fly -- got turned into a hobbling DH. I realize that sports medicine is much more advanced than in those days, but the ankle is tricky. Jacko can weigh in. I know that artificial hips and knees are almost perfected, but not ankles, because the are much more complicated.
  7. I have always said that when Pedey hits, we score lots of runs. Where he hits in the lineup is irrelevant.
  8. JH must be taking hallucinogenics.
  9. I use this one too. LOL!!
  10. Max, please stop misstating my positions. If you are going to take issue with my positions, please get them right. I will defend my positions, but I get tired of pointing out that you don't understand what my positions are. First, I do not believe that the bullpen can do no wrong. I don't know where you get that. I am screaming out for bullpen help. However, when a pitcher is clearly cooked and is getting smacked around, it is time to go pick out one of the guys from the pen to try to stop the bleeding. Farrell gets paid a lot of money to figure out when his pitcher is done. In one of those games, Price got him to the 8th inning. Prce had done his job, and he lost it quickly and obviously. Farrell was positioned to go to his 2 horses in the pen for the 8th and 9th innings -- Ziegler and Kimbrel. He didn't have to go to the other bums. Second, my "rule", as you state it, is not that it is Farrell's fault when we lose a game. My rule is that I point out when he makes a mistake imo. Sometimes we win those games despite his bad moves. Despite the fact that he has more data than any of us, incredibly he still makes some very low percentage calls. Stop saying that I blame all losses on the Farrell. That is not even close to true. If you want to say that I have a low regard for Farrell's intelligence, that would be accurate. The guy looks like he is all backed up when he tries to think. If you like and respect his intelligence, good for you, but I don't blame him for every loss. However, if we miss the playoffs or the Division title by a couple of games, he has certainly cost us that many games. I already corrected you on this. I do not and have not advocated for replacing umpires for calling balls and strikes, and I am not one who agonizes over ball and strike calls. The umpire's strike zone is something that both teams have to deal with. If the premises of your arguments continue to be wrong, it invalidates your opinions. It is getting to the point where I have to take all of your posts with a grain of salt, because of the frequent inaccuracies.
  11. I haven't heard about Koji. We could use him. What about getting a guy like Soria?
  12. Kelly? Oh please no. That guy is a walking disaster.
  13. But it is the only fun we have.
  14. Growing up I imitated Yaz when I batted and Seaver when I pitched. I can't understand how I didn't make it. My mom would get furious about the holes in my pants from imitating Seaver.
  15. Owens throws puss. The only reason he gets swings and misses is that some hitters don't want to infect their bats. LOL! But seriously, the guy sucks.
  16. We will just have to enjoy what we have for the next 3 or 4 years, provided DD can get us some bullpen guys.
  17. That is because he is a choker. Seriously though, he got pretty messed up there for a while. This year he dropped the hitch in his swing and started driving the ball to all fields. When he hit his slump, he started to revert somewhat to that hitch swing where he tries to flip the ball to RF. He was really caught in between the 2 approaches for a while, but now I think his swing and approach is settled back in to where he was before the slump.
  18. He'a a low cost item. If he acts like a fool, we release him in a week. If he fits in, it could be a plus. If not Paps, DD has better get someone else here fast.
  19. We still have problems. We can't hide the ugly underbelly of the bullpen every game. Ziegler is a nice 7th inning guy. Taz is shot. Barnes is s***, and everyone else is journeyman quality. DD needs to get another late inning reliever. Also need to get ERod and Wright back healthy soon.
  20. You haven't heard -- Price is going to be a problem for the 2016 team.
  21. Barnes is middle inning trash. I don't want to listen to crap about him being Kimbrel's set up guy. DD had better get another arm here for the 8th inning. Bring in Paps. His FB is gone, but he knows how to pitch and he has the balls not to be intimidated in the late innings.
