    I was at a rain out in Baltimore in 2004. The usher had just put us in some sweet seats by the 3rd base dugout courtesy of a nice tip and in the 2nd or 3rd inning a deluge like this happened. A record rainfall of 4" or so fell in a couple of hours. We had ponchos, but by the time we got back to the hotel we were completely soaked -- sneakers were ruined. The water was running through the streets like a stream above your ankles. This looks very similar. I would be shocked if they restart the game.

    This is a deluge. Even if the rain stops, they can't get the field playable for 2 hours.

    If he wasn't such a dick and he came here and succeeded as a setup guy, he would get some attention down the stretch. He would probably even get a few save opportunities.

    The team is looks to be on a nice run and possibly ready to really take off. We don't need to be playing until 1 am and then at 1pm tomorrow. I hate the way MLB let's these rain delays go on interminably. It isn't fair to the players or the fans. The old 1 hour rule of thumb was a good rule.

    Webster has already been played out. He was no longer much of a prospect and RFLR was a typical Dodger pump and dump. They are masters at it.

    Yep, I wasn't thrilled to ship him off, but he was doing the alternate healthy year thing and his long term health was in doubt. I think he pitched a no-hitter for the Dodgers.

    We need another bullpen arm. You don't think he can help us? Isn't he worth the investment of the prorated minimum salary to find out?

    yes, I remember. LOL! They were trying to credit Ben with picking off the Fodgers top prospects. All of the players in the deal amounted to little more than a bag of balls. The great part of that deal was disposing of Crawford (top of the list), Beckett(next most important). In order to get that done, we had to shop off a very good player in AGon, but it was all worth it.

    Gagging. i saw Papelbon pitch against the Mets at Citifield not that long ago. His velocity is not what it used to be, but he was very effective. I think people underestimate how well that he knows his craft. His velocity has been down for 3-4 years but he has managed to be very successful for years now without it. I am not one to cherry pick, but he had a couple of god awful blow up games when he came off the DL. Before that stretch, he was having another very successful season.

    Leon had a terrible time catching Kimbrel on Tuesday. LOL! It was his first 1-2-3 inning on some time. Anyone who thinks that Farrell left Holiday into bat because of his superior defensive ability in catching Kimbrel is either disingenuous or is giving Farrell much too much credit.

    But we keep reminding you about Pedey. With one or two exceptions,the BDC people rarely take a stance that doesn't have a bunch of conditions, so it is hard for me to take them seriously when they pay themselves on the back. Boxmal is one of the few that has the cajones to put his opinions on the line without condition.

    His teammates liked him and so did Farrell . Lester has been enlisted by Theo to lobby Paps to go to the Cubs.

    If hits 2 more home runs tomorrow, he should put you up in a hotel in Boston and get you season tickets.
