  1. Mad Max strikes again.
  2. Save some runs for tomorrow night!!
  3. Kid, you are living in the past.
  4. MVP, your prize was sent by PayPal. Please confirm your receipt. Thunder, I will mail you a check tomorrow.
  5. I can guarantee that I will vomit if we blow this.
  6. Can Hill do something for this team?
  7. I am glad that we got rid of this bucket of spit, Miley.
  8. As long as they are solo shots, he can give up one or two more.
  9. Nice start 5-0 after 1 inning!!
  10. No squander this time. 4-0!!
  11. I was getting excited early in the week when you were trailing.
  12. At the game mojo is always a good thing. Hopefully, some of that mojo will rub off on your dad.
  13. I am not the one to bring up the analogy, which is not a good one at all. I don't dispute your premise at all, but the Mays case is not analogous. Just clarifying the history.
  14. But he hasn't played against MLB talent to the same degree as Mays had. Also, the situation with Mays was different. He did nt come up during a stretch drive but rather at the beginning of the season.
  15. I think Satchel was not just referring to the Negro League players, but he played against many of the white stars when he was in his prime as they barnstormed during the offseason. The white stars played the black stars in the offseason as the played in towns that didn't have MLB teams during the offseason.
  16. I agree. We will not see Owens or Johnson as starters this season unless there is a catastrophe in the next week or 10 days.
  17. Willie Mays had already been a star in the Negro Leagues. It wasn't like he was an unknown prospect.
  18. The regular season has concluded and MVP and Thunder were the division champions. Thunder squeaked out the division Championship by 1/2 game over 700 and Iortiz. I had my shot at him last week and I could only manage a tie. MVP dominated his division and the league. I can't remember any team going wire to wire without any faltering. He only lost one game. Our format has changed over time. We used to measure standings based on categories and not a single win/loss each week. In our current format, I can't remember anyone matching MVPs regular season. Well done. Thunder, I am pretty sure that I have your address somewhere. Is a check okay? MVP, send me a PM with an email address to use for PayPal. Good luck to in the playoffs!
  19. I felt this way before yesterday's game, and this is how I feel after yesterday's game.
  20. Last playoff spot? My aspirations are higher.
  21. I have always liked the guy even though he is a doofus.
  22. I always liked the guy.
  23. I have always thought very highly of JF.
  24. Just learn to trust my Spring Training assessments on these things. Last year, I predicted that he had no clue in the OF, and this year Imy concerns were popips and throwing. He has had a few problems with popups, but not too many and he sucks at throwing. Overall, he has been adequate.
  25. Porcello will be high in the final voting. Unless he falls apart, he is in the top 3.
