He has had 2 good seasons out of 9 seasons, with the most recent being 6 years ago. I don't consider that type of performance to be realistic going forward. He has a career .790 OPS at age 29 -- nothing that great.

And he can gain all of the weight back in season. Pete, you give a lot of good Boston restaurant recommendations on TalkSox. You should probably hold back on that in case he is lurking.

Earth to Mad Max, Kimmi made a simple joke about Wright and Pinch Running and you reignited the whole argument with your post in this thread (#40). If you don't want to read about the Wright pinch running fiasco, stop bringing it up, and good God, try to be a little more accurate, cohesive, and pleasant in your posting. The Red Sox are about to clinch the Division, and you are like an angry mad man.

If by "the Return of Pablo" you mean that he will retire to his homeland, I think that is more likely than him starting at 3B for the Sox.

I am shocked that the 2 powerhouses of the league -- Mookie and Moises Mooses were eliminated in back to back weeks. iortiz obliterated my team in the first round 10-0. I might have put up a more respectable showing if I had Strasburg and deGrom available, but I was still going to lose. My surprise was that iortiz throttled Moises Mooses (MVP) almost as badly (9-1). MVP's team was much better than mine, and he only lost 1 game all season. Thunder had the best record in the league last year when I took him down. He is no doubt still disappointed about how he finished off last season. Can he seal the deal this time around? UN is pulling for Thunder. I am pulling for my buddy, iortiz. Good luck to both teams!!

I am not opposed to it. I just don't need it. As with all stats, when they back up my opinion, they are useful. When they diverge from my opinion, their accuracy comes into question.

No, I do not. It was the greatest season tht I have seen in my lifetime. I did not need WAR to tell me how great his 1967 season was. The WAR numbers just back up my opinion. I didn't need it, and I have no idea about the accuracy of that measure.

With the Red Sox leading the Division, Camden Yards would normally be packed with Sox fans. That had been the case for years, but after the town got burned to the ground during riots when the Red Sox were in town last years and they told fans not to leave the stadium, Boston fans stopped making the trip.

Tito was no genius either. He might only be 1 neuron ahead of Farrell, but he is my favorite Red Sox manager. I used to shake my head when post game he would say that the game started going fast. What!!???

If Farrell wins another Championship, he will become my second favorite Red Sox manager right behind Tito. My liking him will not make him any smarter. He will still only have 2 working neurons.
