  1. I am like you in that I root for team on the field, not the one wearing suits. I don't care who those people are and for the most part I would not know who they were if I passed them on the street. Maybe I am just old school. LOL!
  2. We almost had Bernie Williams. They Yankees did not want to pay him, but when Boss Steinbrenner found out that he would be signing with us, they paid him.
  3. Lester and Lackey are three time champions. Some guys are just winners, and it is nice to have them in your rotation.
  4. He didn't grow up as a Cubs fan.
  5. I never said that Ben should leave if he had no authority to overrule LL, never mind saying it many times. Please don't put words in my mouth and then attribute those words to me "many times". Second, if I was working in my dream job as GM for my favorite team -- the Boston Red Sox, I would not leave the job voluntarily under any circumstances that I can imagine. Theo grew up as a Red Sox fan, and he turned his back on his dream job.
  6. That does paint a picture.
  7. You know ... those phantoms who are blamed for everything.
  8. No one said that he owed us.
  9. I have plenty of resentment to go around, but Theo was not being fired. He was very young when he left. With a little patience, he would have inherited the keys to the kingdom. He couldn't wait. He left. Screw him.
  10. He could have outlasted Lucchino
  11. i don't detract from his accomplishments at all. Didn't you read my earlier post? But I will never forgive him for leaving the Red Sox. The fact that he has been successful increases my resentment.
  12. The Red Sox excercise David Ortiz's option for 2017 http://m.redsox.mlb.com/news/article/208061672/red-sox-exercise-ortizs-option-as-formality/
  13. He asked for permission to interview with the Cubbies. I will not forgive that.
  14. He's worth $26 million using WAR
  15. I wonder if Theo would have fired him like he fired Grady if the game had gone the other way.
  16. I promise not to be the first to bring it up.
  17. Really, you can't grasp that?
  18. And that is definitive. Of course the Guardians were better than the Red Sox, and that is why they had home field advantage. That is why home field advantage is important. It is an indicator of which team is the better team.
  19. Kudos to Theo. He has established himself as one of the best GMs in the history of the game. And now I am even more mad that he flat left us. It would have been easier if he had been a failure.
  20. Have you taken a poll of Indian fans? And nobody will take a poll of the fans, and that is a shame.
