  1. Yet, I got the apology. Figure that one out.
  2. I think you are being biased and more than slightly paranoid. I am allowed to have a different opinion from you and others, and I have openly stated my opinion that 2021 to 2025 is too distant to really get me worried. I will worry about that period in a couple of years or so. That is how I prioritize my concerns. That is not bashing you or anyone for that matter. Not only did you enter into 2 discussions today that you were not part of, but you got personally insulting even though you didn't disagree with my side of either argument. If you want to talk about lacking tolerance of opposing views, you demonstrate intolerance of my opinions even when you do not disagree with me. I accept your apology about the insults, but there really is no need for you to oppose what I am saying if I am not addressing you or one of your opinions. There is plenty to argue about when we really disagree about something.
  3. I called it faulty and poor. Does that make someone want to curl up into the fetal position?
  4. If you LOVE the Sale trade, why did you feel the need to stir so much s*** with me? I didn't accuse you of anything in my initial post on this issue. The post that got the whole argument rolling was Notin's, and my response to that post did not mention you and was not in response to any of your posts. Yet, you took the opportunity to enter the fray and fan a flame war and hurl a few insults at me. This is the second time today that you entered a discussion between me and another poster when I wasn't addressing you and took the opportunity to insult me. Knock it off, clown.
  5. It is not an erroneous perception.
  6. It was a very faulty analogy.
  7. Baseball. Please.
  8. The rumor was that Theo was against it. I could be mistaken, but I thought Bill Lajoie promoted that trade.
  9. Blah, blah, blah. Talk baseball.
  10. "Clown"? You just have no idea about the perception you create.
  11. Very poor analogy.
  12. You love it IN A VACUUM... RIGHT?
  13. Wow! You love the Sale trade? You will never get a job writing Hallmark cards.
  14. I am not attacking you at all. Go through your own posts, and tally up how many have been positive and how many negative. It is my perception that you are very negative. That is not a personal attack. It is my perception.
  15. We have a kick ass team and the whole tenor of this board is negative. That is my observation.
  16. Not from where I sit.
  17. Ben has no control of anything with the Red Sox.
  18. Get the circumstances straight. You interjected in support of the person who credited Ben for Beckett. If you interject like that, it is a fair assumption that you agree with that person's opinion. maybe you should have stayed out of that one since you didn't agree with him?
  19. We got your perspective on this trade in your first 100 posts about it. We get it, but you beat the thing to death, and if people disagree with you, you inundate them with lists of prospects and other stuff and then you go on with another 100 hand wringing negative posts. We get your point. The only thing good about your incessant obsessive negativity about the Sale trade is that it finally got you off the Pomeranz trade. Yes , perspective is needed.
  20. Let's try sticking to baseball in this decade.
  21. Then stop the constant hand wringing posts which are overwhelming in number compared to the optimistic posts about our team. It seems like this is a message board for the Phillies. Get some balance. You are not balanced at all in posting about this team.
  22. The difference is that I am in control of the actions necessary to plan my own retirement. I am not in control of the Boston Red Sox. I try not to worry about things that I cannot control, but that can be difficult when it comes to the Red Sox. I have very strong emotional ties with them, but I have been able to not worry about them 10 years down the road. That is not shortsighted, because again, I have no control over any of it. With regard to your your analogy to my retirement planning, as I have said, this analogy is way off the mark, because I have control of things affecting my retirement planning. On the other hand, I have no control over my brother's retirement planning. I love my brother and hope that he will be able to retire comfortably. If he invites me to a wedding for my niece for which he spends $200 k, I would consider that to be an extravagant expense and probably not in the best interests of his retirement planning. Nevertheless, I would enjoy the beautiful extravagant wedding and trust that my brother has a good plan to retire. It is not in my control. That is the better analogy. Enjoy the extravagant party. Ten years is a long way off and you have no control over it. It is a very valuable franchise, and JH has people who worry about its long term value.
  23. Uh, yeah it really is.
