No enigma. 40 HRs 115 RBI and .401 OBP sitting in DR replaced by a .317 OBP guy. No mystery. No enigma. Sox with 20 HRs. Last year 27 HRs at the same time and Papi had 7 of them. No mystery. No enigma.

Of course it was Barnes' fault. He didn't do his homework. Mauer loves pitches up and away as he is an opposite field hitter. It is one of the few balls that he can drive out of the park.
Using that theory, every major league team could save some money by eliminating the first and third base coaches. Dumb base running a fielding is something that good coaching can correct.
I agree that the pitching is not the issue. It is the strength of the team, but it is going to have to be near letter perfect for this team to win consistently. That is why I mentioned a possible run when we get back one of our big studs --Price.
40 HRs, 115 RBI and .401 OBP is sitting on hi couch in the DR replaced by a .317 OBP guy. That wasn't going to cut it. This team has to be lights out with its pitching to win. Maybe when Price comes back we will go on a run.
He threw around 50 pitches last night. Stretch him to 75 pitches the next time out. That could get him through 4+ innings which is probably better than what Kendrick would get us
