  1. LOL!!!Only if the balls were added through surgery.
  2. Nice win for the team, and the greedy owners get to pocket the gate.
  3. Goodness, this Jumbo Diaz guy takes shits that are bigger than each of the Killer Bees.
  4. Marrero? Seriously? The balls are really flying today.
  5. I have hated them for years.
  6. But the FO should not have a false impression of the value of their assets or they are not doing their job. Devers is pretty close to MLB ready. He is a much more valuable chip then all of the others traded except for Moncada (and he netted us a super star starting pither)
  7. Bradley needs to find his s*** fast. His bat is needed. we no longer have the luxury of saying that we will carry his .200 bat because of his glove. We don't have Big Papi anchoring this lineup. We have little production at catcher, zero at 3B and a subpar offensive first baseman. You can't carry 4 dead spots in the lineup regardless of the quality of your pitching. He needs to start producing.
  8. It's not really a Pomeranz vs. Beltre issue.
  9. This lineup is a joke for a $200 million team where the best players XB, Betts and Benintendi are dirt cheap.
  10. There are big differences. Whatever Pomeranz is, he is approaching or is in his prime. Beltre is at the end of his career and comes with a 2018 price tag of $18 million. Pomerance costs about $3 million/year and we have him under control for a few years, which is a very cheap price for a starting pitcher in your MLB rotation. Devers has a late 2017 -early 2018 exected arrival date. Espinoza is expected about 2020-21.
  11. Cafardo on the pregame today made the point that Panda will have to be the answer at 3B. That means that Devers will not be coming up anytime soon. How much rope will Panda get before they look outside?
  12. Still no Hanley. Without him the lineup is garbage. Playing a rookie at cleanup speaks volumes. I love the kid's bat, but seriously, he should not be the centerpiece of the lineup for a playoff bound team.
  13. They are not playing for free, but there are some players who are naive and don't have a clue as to their worth. There are no naive owners. They are all professional money grubber -- no exceptions.
  14. Pedroia has the least speed of the top of the order guys, so I would move him out of the second slot, because he is the easiest for the opposition to turn the DP.
  15. And they should hire people to represent their interests or the owners would fleece them at every turn.
  16. Where the teams are in the standings in late June will dictate whether these teams are buyers or sellers. We will just have to wait and let that play out. As for the price for Beltre, maybe the Rangers demand Devers if they eat all of his 2017 and most of his 2018 salary, but not if the Red Sox are picking up the freight cost. If they want to clear a path for Joey Gallo, they might want to shed some payroll too. I doubt that they can land a Devers level prospect for a 38 year old who is owed $18 million for 2019 when he will be 39. Certainly, there is no downside to the Red Sox making an inquiry about Beltre as the season progresses, and we have a giant need at 3B. Other guys to inquire about would be Todd Frazier Moustakas.
  17. Players if left to their own devices would almost all be broke within 5 years of the conclusion of their careers. They are not professional money grubbing fiends like agents and owners.
  18. We are pretty much on the same page.
  19. 1. XB 2. Benintendi 3. Mookie 4. Hanley 5. Pedroia XB is on fire right now but not hitting for power. Let him set the table and get Pedroia out of the second slot to cut down on the DPs. When XB starts driving the ball out of the park or cools down, I would switch Pedrioa to leadoff and XB to the 5th spot.
