That wasn't it at all. What entered into my thinking wasthat Sale worked very hard in the 5th -- made a lot of pitches and was right around the hundred mark. The game is coming down to the pens anyway. The extra inning from Sale didn't mean much to me when we need 3 from the pen anyway.

We know that, but Sale is also the most valuable piece of property on the roster. I wouldn't have sent him out there at 98 pitches and so many thrown in the 5 th inning. Edit: I was more worried about Sale than the game which is going to come down to the pens anyway.
