  1. It is nice to win this series in Houston.
  2. Benitendi picks up Farrell with his throw.
  3. Farrell has pre-determined not to go to Kimbrel in the 8th tonight.
  4. My basis for judging their intelligence is reliable but not based on clinical testing.
  5. Scott for 1 batter and then Kimbrel for 4 outs?
  6. All 30 managers submit to a series of tests directed by me during Spring Training.
  7. I think it got him on the funny-bone. That hurts like hell.
  8. This doesn't look good for Mookie.
  9. They have heavy artillery. We have pea shooters.
  10. Another Bomb given up by our pitchers,
  11. He has limited cognitive abilities. Our pitchers are giving up lots of bombs this season.
  12. Intelligence, more accurately, cognitive ability affects the performance of any job or function. if you have high cognitive function, you will be better at your job. I am not talking about general intelligence that would help someone do well playing Jeopardy. There is very little difference among the 30 field managers imo. They are fungible imo.
  13. Jed Lowrie should not be too costly. With Cad Pinder and Matt Chapman ready to step in and takeover and with Ryan Healy already established, they have no room for Lowrie.
  14. I think Ben's tenure as GM was awful, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he was learning on the job. If he had finished 4th instead of last in 2014 and 2015, he would not have been fired and maybe he would find some consistent success. He just flushed down the toilet very quickly. i don't doubt that managers know more about baseball than I do, but that doesn't make them smart or good managers. Most are not very good at managing, making them extremely fungible.
  15. Cherington only had 4 years as a GM. He really screwed up, but if he had gotten his chance in a smaller markets his on the job mistakes might not have been as noticeable and he might have improved. His body of work is too small to compare him to other GM's. As for the low IQ issue with managers, 50 years of listening to them speak is enough to come to that conclusion.
  16. I fear that he roblem is in his head at this point like he admits happened in 2015.
  17. His contract is a sunk cost. We will not see him in a Red Sox uniform because of the 40 man roster issue. We can only hope that he stays hot and that we can trade him. My question is whether we would have to add him to the 40 man roster before we trade him. I don't think so, but I am not sure.
  18. And all of that lends credence to my opinion that the people who fill those positions and the FO are so fungible.
  19. With Velazquez pitching on Monday and no other starting depth until injury prone EROd gets back, imo we need another starting pitcher.
  20. Let's suffice it to say that it is the result of my observations over half a century of watching games and following baseball. It is nothing more that my opinion.
  21. He stinks this year. It doesn't matter how hard he is throwing. He is being hit hard and allowing base runners and home runs at an alarming rate. Way Baack Wasdin threw hard too. Porcello is a career 4.25 ERA pitcher over a 9 year career. He is a solid #4 as he takes the ball every turn, but he is not an ace but for a couple of bad outings.
  22. i was just joking.
  23. With few exceptions, yes and yes.
  24. I saw an interview with him at the beginning of the season that concerned me. He talked about changing his approach after coming from the Tigers and he mentioned that he had some issues with the adjustments to his approach and that it snowballed and got into his head. Last season (2016), he was building confidence from a series of successful outings. This year these bad outings seem to be affecting him mentally. Maybe he needs a minor league rehab stint to find himself.
