  1. we are not hitting HRs. That is how to score runs in today's game with all these shifts. You can't get enough hits on the ground anymore, so the players are lifting the ball and the advantage goes to the big guys when hitting the ball in the air. The correlation of OBP to run production is no longer as direct in today's game. The importance of the HR is increasing. I don't know where the break even point is but I would be willing to give up 15 percentage points on OBP to be the top HR team.
  2. My son in law gets TV through PlayStation Vue and I don't think it has Fox. Damn!
  3. Mighty Midget Bradley!!
  4. More warning track type power from the elfish outfielder.
  5. He and Bogaerts have been the entire offense lately. Let's see if Dancing With The Stars Benintendi can get a hit.
  6. But for Hanley's idiotic base running, this game is tied or we are leading.
  7. And he wants Moustakas. That is the guy that I want. He is a very solid fielder. For my money, he was the best fielder on the KC championship team.
  8. I agree, and then it is all on the coaching.
  9. Maybe so, but I don't remember it being this bad last year.
  10. Farrell thinks that he can make things happen on the bases and help the team score runs, but if you run the bases stupidly, you reduce your run output.
  11. IDK either, but if he had his hands up and was yelling loud enough, the announcers might have mentioned it.
  12. Pablow can't play the position anymore. I can run faster than VMart. There is no way that he should get an infield hit on that ball. It takes Pablow forever to throw the ball. The guy sucks. That should have been charged as an error.
  13. Our pitchers are afraid to throw strikes, because we can't score runs to support them. Pitch counts are up to 100 in the 4th inning.
  14. A guy like Hanley needs the base coach talking to him all the time. It is not an excuse that he is an air head. All the more reason to ride his ass when he is on base. Butterworth should have had both hands up screaming hold 2 hold 2.
  15. That cost us runs. Pablow is so slow. The second baseman bobbled the ball and still got him on the DP. How many bobbles does he need to beat the throw?
  16. Randomness. Nothing to see here.
  17. More stupid base running making the first out at 3B. These out on the bases are rally killers and we are hurting for runs. Xander would have been safe at 2B earlier in the game if he had slid instead of tip toeing to the bag. Coaching!
  18. One of the few guys over 6 feet tall hits a HR. It is telling that Moreland is a centerpiece of our offense. That was not supposed to be his role, and he is not good enough to anchor the lineup.
  19. We need some Home Run hitters in this year of juiced balls and home runs. That is how teams are scoring and winning. We have a bunch of elves in our lineup. What the f*** is it with scouting and signing all these 5'8'' guys when athletes are huge and fast today? Stupid strategy..
  20. Pablow played that like it was a hand grenade. The call should be reversed. E-5.
  21. We have 1 unearned run in the last 22 innings--atrocious. We have 1 hit so far tonight. Are we facing another great pitcher tonight? Zimmerman has an almost 6 ERA.
  22. The thread title is Worst Red Sox pitcher. He really sucked it for us.
  23. How about John Smoltz? His tour with the Red Sox was short, but it would be hard to find someone who was worse than him. He was thoroughly bad.
