  1. But the concern you mentioned referenced Pablo.
  2. Miggy is an exception to all right handed hitters. They guy lives in a different universe.
  3. Mentioning Pablo in the same post as Miggy as a comparable situation in any aspect discredits the entire post.
  4. Bring your best mojo. The Yankees are breaking out of their funk and we need to fend them off.
  5. He's not that old. I see no reason why he cannot be a serious offensive force as a DH until age 40 like Ortiz had been.
  6. Farrell is useless.
  7. In instance after instance Price comes off like a nasty immature jerk-- going all the way back to his feud with Ortiz while Price was still with Tampa. A couple of days ago there was an article by Tomase (I think) that was about Hanley being the unlikely clubhouse leader because of his positive and upbeat personality and he contrasted that to the scowl of David Price which characterizes much of the rest of the clubhouse. He likened the mentoring by Price of AB and Bradley as cancerous like AGon was with young players in 2012. I don't understand such hate and anger directed at a team announcer. Eck was not unfairly critical at all. My recollection was that he pointed out that Price had not covered first base. It wasn't a questionable call. Price had not covered first base, that was his job and it cost the team an out. An announcer's job, especially the color analyst, is to point out these things. Eck was not terribly critical in my recollection. In fact, I think he acknowledged that it had happened to him.
  8. Miggy for 6/100 would be a steal compared to Pablo 5/90 or Hanley at 5/100. I'd go 6/150 for Miggy,
  9. The Yankees can have him
  10. All of these players experience real life away from the diamond. Many of them get divorced and experience personal tragedy, but they come to the field prepared to play. Pablo's did not come in condition to play. The "he was always far" argument rings hollow. He was unprepared to play, and even after 2 disastrous seasons, he admitted that he did not practice his fielding this past off season.
  11. Ben would get Duda and extend his contract. DD will not do that. Duda stinks. He really is terrible.
  12. They can teach him to run the bases like a chicken with his head cutoff and to throw to the wrong base. We just need him to hit.
  13. I can see a danger with bringing up a pitcher too soon if he is pressing and overthrowing which could cause injury, but not with a position player.
  14. it has been stinging since the day he left. Our team responded to Lovullo while Farrell was out, and Farrell was about to be fired when he was diagnosed with cancer.
  15. And of course managers make moves to make the fan base happy without regard to helping the team win. That happens everyday.
  16. Offense sucked today, but you can't give up 3 HRs to these bums. The Angels offense is terrible. Neither the pitching or the offense did the job today.
  17. Duda stinks. I have seen too much of him living in NY. He gets Red hot for a week and hits 4 or 5 HRs and some doubles and then he disappears like a goat for 3-5 weeks. He is a terrible fielder and he has 2 bad hips. PASS! DD, stick with Moreland instead of wasting any prospects on Duda. Let the Yankees get him.
  18. The difference is that Velrander (bad contract and all) is a great pitcher who has performed excellently for the Tigers. Muggy is one of the greatest hitters of all time and won a Triple Crown 2 seasons ago. Castillo, Craig, and Pablo have cost a bundle and have contributed nothing. Hanley has also been an extreme overpayment. DD paid a lot for Miggy and Verlander, but DD might has well have given $200 million to a homeless person for the return he got on the investment.
  19. Ben was the GM and if he was such a puppet that he couldn't implement his own plan, then he was useless and gets credit for anything good that happened in his tenure. He was either accountable for what happened on his watch or he was a puppet regime that doesn't matter.
  20. If he looks overwhelmed like Moncado did last season, DF will still have time to do a deal. I never bought the line of thought that players are so fragile that bringing them up too early can ruin them.
  21. The coaching staff is doing nothing about these issues.
  22. DD has a World Championship (with the Marlins) and bucket full of Division Championship. Ben' s last place ratio was 75%. Add to those lost seasons, the terrible contracts that he left behind and he was a disaster.
  23. It is not a good night for Price.
  24. You preferred the stewardship of last place coffee boy Ben?
